We’ve been at Mako for 1 year so far. The club is very welcoming and ensures the kids grow and learn how to overcome their adversity. My son is a goalkeeper and he LOVES Coach Leon & he has taught him so many new techniques that have ripped him out of his comfort zone on the field. He has made a real impact on our son’s development. Overall it is a good club, and there’s never going to be a perfect club— the communication has improved greatly since the beginning of the season. My only feedback would be to avoid shuffling teams in the competitive division mid-season. But the club ensures that you get what you pay for in terms of games, development, play time and a positive atmosphere. My husband and I are pleased with the season and the hard work Coach Dwayne and Coach Michael put into the growth of the boys.

We have been part of Mako Soccer Club for the past 3 years. From rec. to competitive it has been very rewarding. The club is the most organized and family friendly compared to anywhere the surrounding counties. It is well rounded not only with soccer for all ages and fund raising but events like trunk or treat and sponsorship trips etc.
With recent changes in leadership the direction is very promising to match the demand in this awesome sport.

Just moved out here last spring and wanted to get my kids signed up… that is until I heard what other parents warned me about and I experienced first-hand when we went to a couple of try-outs. The toxic competitive environment is insufferable and I’d never have my kids go through that- I want them learn about teamwork, sportsmanship, and to be apart of a club with healthy leadership. It was clear in one sitting that the adults focus was only on winning, nothing else.

Moved on to another club that shares my ethos and I haven’t thought of Mako until they got recommended on my IG.

My son started at Mako 4 Years ago as a Rec player, we absolutely Loved the experience and wanted a little more. We then joined the development team, which is a step above Rec and a taste of how Competitive would be like. He is now on the Competitive team and we continue to Love everything Mako has to offer. It feels like home and everyone is Family!!

My family has been with Mako for several years. We have been pleased with the recreational program as well as the competitive travel program. I've had two children play in the recreational program until they were old enough to tryout for the competitive program. The recreational program was a fun activity to get them involved and introduced to the sport.

The competitive program is quite a step up and has a solid group of quality coaches. It's a much more demanding program than others in the area and it's been a very positive experience for both our children.
