Our instructor, Aaron, was very patient, informative, and truly a blessing! All the staff at the learning center are so kind and welcoming. There are rentals and a bathroom up here, as well as complimentary hot drinks and water. Absolutely recommend for 1st time/beginner skiers. The hills were manageable for new skiers too!

This is a long review, explaining our family of 5 experience, and navigating to the Learning Center (which was slightly confusing, so be sure to read and/or ask the staff for good directions before you go!)

Getting to the Lynx Learning Center was a bit confusing, as you have to go through the rental shop and up the Lynx Magic Carpet lift to the Lynx Center (marked as Lynx Lift on the map as of Dec ‘22). Even though we initially went through the rental shop, there wasn’t any signage for The Lynx area and didn’t know we have to ride the magic carpet to get there. (This may change, as I think they are currently developing this part).

Once we found the Lynx Center, we were able to rent our gear, pay for our lessons and lift tickets, all in the Lynx building. (*note - our private lesson was ending at a time where we only needed to purchase 1/2 day lift tickets, and because my husband was an avid skier in his youth, he purchased the 1/2 day ticket for the whole mountain, whereas me and the kids only purchased the beginner slopes 1/2 day ticket)

The group at the Lynx leaning center was super helpful in answering questions and guiding us in our equipment rental and lift ticket purchase. After getting fitted with our gear and being paired with our instructor Mason, we stayed at the Lynx Center for a little while, going down the school slope several times with him. Mason was great with the kids but I was really impressed with how he kinda took the lead with my son who is three. About 1/2 way through our private lesson, Mason took us to the Nova chair in the middle of the resort, which is near the main lodge.

A little review on our instructor Mason specifically - He was so kind, so personable and SO good with our kids - I almost stayed behind at our VRBO with my son, as I thought it would be really stressful trying to learn to ski with him. I’m so glad I went anyway, because Mason saw the need, and paired up with my son nearly the whole time; down the slopes, on the magic carpet and the Nova lift, which is a legit lift and closer to the lodge/food court. It was a true joy to spend the day with Mason as our instructor!

Once our 3 hr. lesson was over, we were able to continue skiing without Mason using the lift tickets we purchased in the beginning. My husband, went on the the more advanced slopes, while I returned to the Lynx center with our three kids, (10,9 and 3). It is super kid-friendly and was easy for my older two, to ride that slope on their own, and was also very easy for me to go up the magic carpet and down the slope with my 3 year old, who did really REALLY well all by himself. We ended up staying there riding the little slope until closing time.

Overall, we had a fabulous time learning how to ski at the Lynx Learning Center at Wolf Creek, and I highly recommend Instructor Mason for private lessons!

Our instructor, at Lynx Ski School, Kelsey was so kind, patient, and helpful to us beginners. She taught us so many useful "dos and do nots" as well as helping build my confidence. Other staff there was very helpful navigating us through the process for our first time skiing. Would recommend 100%
