Nice little tourist spot a few blocks away from Lincoln’s home.

They have a video about his inauguration train ride and some other historical readings.

The law office owns the building but they’ve kept the depot portion open.

There was no admission fee and we had no wait when we visited.

Well it's fitting that this depot now be the offices of a law firm, considering that Lincoln was a lawyer. Nice little area on the first floor for photos and an informative video.

We happened on this place as a result of the tourist maps given at the visitors center to the kids. It wasn’t supposed to open until 4/1 for the season but they let us in early anyway as it was March when we went. So go after 4/1! It was really cool. You can stand there and envision Lincoln giving his address as you read the plaque. It’s an essential visit in Springfield if you are doing all of the Lincoln sites!

We stopped in here on a Saturday so it wasn’t open to the public; however, it was still interesting to read about and look around outside. Definitely stop by here if you are in town to learn all about Lincoln. A great piece of history happened here.

Small and free piece of history that shares space with a law office (upstairs). Self guided. Takes no more than 15 minutes. Grab a pamphlet of Lincoln's speech he made at this place before leaving for Washington DC. It's a moving speech. Depot is a 5 minute walk from the Lincoln home National historic site.
