Christine is fantastic! She helped our son with reading, spelling, and writing for just over a year. Our son is in high school and has always struggled with reading and writing. While she worked with him, he significantly improved his reading and spelling. She also helped him with schoolwork, specifically with essays.
She is so kind and truly loves her students. She built a strong relationship with our son and he loved working with her. He regularly mentions how much she helped him with reading and spelling. Also, he always thinks of sharing his essays with her to get her help. Our son is not a kid who likes to spend much time with schoolwork, so the fact that he wants to get her feedback says a ton! She is amazing! We are so happy we found her!

Christine is wonderful! She helped my son learn how to read, and without her we would be lost. She is so kind, truly loves her students and their families, and I am so glad that she is in our lives. She is also a wonderful resource for parents and will go to school meetings, she helps explain things, and she truly know what her students need to succeed.

My son was at a kindergarten reading level in third grade when he was diagnosed with dyslexia. Once we had the diagnosis, I thought the school would finally "get it" and know how to help him; however, that couldn't have been further from the truth. The understanding of, and ability to deliver, current evidence based intervention for children with dyslexia is unfortunately lacking in our schools. My son's teacher told me, "some kids have to be the bottom of the barrel" as if the idea of a bell curve justified my son's lack of progress due to the school's failure to provide appropriate instruction. Christine expertly stepped in as an educational advocate and collaboratively worked with the team to create and implement an IEP that met my son's needs. Christine was able to maintain a great working relationship with the team and monitor progress.
Christine also provides direct reading instruction to my son. Christine approaches her lessons with a relational, whole child model, which has allowed my son to engage in and enjoy learning again. We have seen tremendous growth in reading, spelling, writing and, equally as important, self confidence and positive self concept. We moved out of state but have continued individual tutoring sessions with Christine via a virtual platform. I am shocked at how Christine is able to keep my son creatively engaged throughout these sessions and incredibly thankful for the progress he continues to make. Christine and Learning Possibilities changed the trajectory of my son's life by making literacy accessible. I cannot recommend her enough.

Christine worked with our son Alex (who has vision issues and dyslexia) for about 18 months. Within that time period, Alex made significant improvements in reading, spelling, comprehension, and personal confidence.

We found Christine to be helpful, intelligent, patient, caring, and flexible. She genuinely cared for him as a person and as a student. Perhaps most importantly, she developed a great rapport with our son. Alex enjoyed working with Christine (she made it fun and challenging) and he learned a lot from her. I was also able to gain a better understanding of the challenges a person with dyslexia faces. We would definitely recommend Christine.

Christine is incredible. Her passion for helping students, her organizational skills, her caring nature were all instrumental in helping our daughter and Her reading. She is also an advocate for our daughter , which is extremely helpful especially when we don’t have education backgrounds. She helped us make sure we get the best for our girl. Can’t say enough good things

Christine is a top-notch, high-quality instructional choice for students like my daughter, who has dyslexia. Christine provides friendly, fun, multi-sensory, effective lessons for my daughter! She’s professional yet personal and always willing to go the extra mile~even driving 45 min north to my home to deliver materials!

I highly recommend Christine Pederson as a tutor for any child with reading struggles/dyslexic diagnosis. My granddaughter doubled both her Fast Bridge Assessment and MAP scores over one summer of working with Christine. Plus Christine always engages students with activities they love.

My husband found Learning Possiblities on a search to find a reading tutor for our son who was struggling with dyslexia. After meeting with Christine, we knew she would be able to help our son. She was easy to work into our schedule, and took into fact our schedule as well. She got our son who hardly read kindergarten sight words in 2nd grade, to reading sentences to books by the end of 2nd grade. She helped us fight our school district when needing someone specific to help our son. We are now signing up our daughter who’s starting to struggle with reading, since we see such great progress with our son! I will recommend Learning Possibilities to our friends and neighbors if they are looking for a reading tutor.
