My children and myself have been going to La Plata family therapy for over a year now. We were met with extreme professionalism through the administration and the therapists who were carefully selected to fit the various points of concerns I wanted to help my kids navigate through. Great atmosphere, and even better therapists!

This agency/Hillary Wolfe pulling out large amounts of money out of my checking account and credit card on numerous occasions without alerting me or providing statements. When they were paid in full for all sessions by my insurance company, after many months and hours that I personally put into fixing an error between the agency and insurance, they then chose illegally not to reimburse me for well over $800 to date and played games that led to termination of needed counseling services for a child. La Plata Family Therapy are not trustworthy or ethical and do not have their patients best interests in heart.

There's good, bad and ugly. Just like in anything. I have a large family so have worked closely with quite a few therapists from here.
I'll start with the good... Laura O. And Chris D. Absolutely amazing individuals with a heart of gold. Always make their clients feel valued and heard while still helping them grow and learn.
The mediocre, Sarah C. She was amazing until her heart just wasn't in it anymore. I waited several months for her to return from leave (passed when she stated she would return) without any communication, or update from anyone in this office. Colin F. I feel like he cares overall but isn't the best at determining when to be gentle, when to push you, and when to just listen, but over all, I think he means well.
The bad... Jen B. Will show up at your minor child's recreational activities without any consent from you. She will also go on vacation without notifying you. At all. Leaving your child waiting in the lobby until they/you realize she just isn't coming.
Sarah T. Will decide she knows what's best for your other minor child after spending a WHOLE THREE HOURS with them and then will twist your words and tell your child that you and I quote "your mom put you in here, because she said you have anger issues but I don't see any reason for you to continue therapy" and then she'll refuse to continue sessions and tell you how she feels about your familys schedule and the responsibilities you as a parent are trying to instill in your kids. This should have a team-work type situation but instead, I feel completely thrown under the bus, judged and upset that she made my child feel as if I thought that there was something wrong with them. Rather that I want them to learn healthy coping mechanisms and have the tools they need to be able to live a successful life. Everyone should probably go to therapy, just maybe not here.
Kelly D. I had one phone conversation with her, liked her well enough and then couldn't get a response from her for over a month. Once I brought this to my therapists attention, I was informed that, "yes, that's a pattern with her".
And lastly the ugliest part of all this, the owner. She will ignore your texts, calls and emails if she doesn't feel you fit her agenda or if she doesn't want to deal with you or your concerns. Everyone will tell you over and over how it's ok if it doesn't work out with said therapist, that it needs to be the right fit, but when you actually try to do just that, when you actually want to try and find the right fit, not just a warm body, her actions, or lack there of will say otherwise. Did you know that the relationship you have with your therapist is actually the most important part of therapy?
I feel completely unheard, betrayed, teamed up on and like I was such an inconvenience that they didn't want to "deal with" any longer.
Most unprofessional and awful experience ever. It's worth noting that my husband and I both went here for over a year without any issues and all of this has been in the last several months.
She will probably respond on here and try to justify her actions and I wouldn't be surprised if she tells everyone more of my personal life thats supposed to be confidential, yet has not been in the least. It felt like high school all over again with a group of gossiping girls.
You have been warned.

Extremely unprofessional practice owner. Terminated a child from services, yelled at me on the phone, and then hung up on me after being asked to reimburse over billed amounts confirmed by insurance to be due back to us, with ample documentation and multiple phone calls/messages trying to be pragmatic and work together. Still refuses to send an itemized statement to help sort the issue out. Deleted our client portal so we can’t see any messages or the vague billing summary available on it that they change frequently to hide inconsistencies. Very concerning. We are super bummed, as the therapist we saw was actually wonderful and now this will be another trauma for my kid to try to cope with. Therapists are great but just be wary of balance billing and know your plan and rights.

Willow is one of the best therapists I've ever encountered. She's so calm and understanding and validating. She really has a way of getting to the core root of your trauma and making it all make sense. I'm sometimes nervous to go to my appointments but I always feel better afterwards. The initial appt intake was easy and seamless and I'm happy with who they matched me with. It's been 3 months of great progress. Definitely recommend!
