Seriously cannot express how awesome our fishing charter was with Casey! First, his safety briefing was awesome and allowed us all to feel confident on the boat. His equipment and boat were great. He had great spots that were not well known and we each hit our limit on halibut. We also caught some great kings as well. Casey wanted everyone to have a great time and catch a ton of fish. If you find yourself in Kodiak, an experience with Kodiak Survival School is a MUST! My husband and I were visiting my sister-in-law in Kodiak, and she booked the WW2 History Boat Tour for us and my brother-in-law. To say this experience exceeded my expectations is an understatement. Casey is incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, kind, and just about the most competent person I’ve ever met. Exploring Long Island was by far one of the coolest experiences of this city girl’s life. Casey is such a gifted teacher, and it was a delight to learn from him. The next time we visit Kodiak, we’ll 100% be booking another adventure with KSS!

While on a recent cruise, my wife and I were extremely pleased with the 5 hour van excursion into the wilderness through KODIAK SURVIVAL SCHOOL. Our driver/guild, Otter Bob, had lived in the area for more than 40 years, knew the area like the back of his hand, informed us about life in Alaska and was able to tell many colorful stories. The weather was bad and the session was wrong for most wildlife sightings, but the outing was still very worthwhile. Another great thing was that the trip was offered through the local Kodiak Visitor Center and cost us about half the amount that we would expect to pay through the ship's excursion program.

We booked with Casey on a whim at the last minute so we could get an extra day of saltwater fishing, and boy are we sure glad that we did. The day started out with him giving us a detailed safety brief of his order of operations on his vessel The Halcyon. ( amazing boat by the way) he is a very friendly and easy to get along with as a guide. To say he put us on the fish is an understatement. We limited out on everything we targeted. Amazing quality of fish as well. We were even able to traverse from salt to fresh water and back again in search of coho salmon. As a veteran it was nice connecting with Casey who is a retired navy seal. Not many folks can say they had a guided fishing trip from a navy seal. We had a great trip with our group of 4 and plan on booking with him again next summer on our return to kodiak. He also maintains a lodge that is worth looking into. Thanks again for the amazing trip, quality fish and awesome memory. See you next summer.

If you plan on adventuring in beautiful but wild Alaska, you won’t find better hosts than Casey and Lacey Harver! They are the essence of hospitality, and my time with them in Alaska was life-changing! The survival skills my son learned helped him survive a northern California hiking incident. A worthwhile investment, I will definitely book with them when I return to Raspberry Island - there isn’t another outfit that even comes close to their professionalism.

Casey is the man! Professional, knowledgeable, and great to be around on the boat. He put us right on the sweet spot -- my buddy hauling in a 100lb+ halibut was the highlight of our time in Kodiak.

Bob picked us up from our cruise ship and showed us around Kodiak. We saw bear and stayed with them for a while. He took us to lookouts, beaches, forests and rivers and told us what life was like on the island. He was knowledgeable and friendly and it was a privilege to have met him. Thanks to all who made this such a great day for us.
