My son had his first meeting with Financial Aid Counselor Ashley and what was supposed to be an exciting journey, ended up being a disastrous one. First of all, the minute we walked in her office, she looked at us like we were from another planet. She was cold, rude and very argumentative. Her tone of voice was not very pleasant and we all felt mistreated and unwanted. My son ended up withdrawing his application since Mrs. Ashley's actions did not meet his expectations. We do not recommend Keiser University nor Mrs. Ashley.

Please spare yourself and attend another school! This facility is nice in the beginning, once they realize they have you locked in. Once classes start you slowly realize you are teaching yourself. Staff is rude, teachers lack teaching capabilities, and any question you have about funding is extremely difficult to get answered. They have an F rating through the BBB, along with 8 complaints (from the last 24 months) through the VA, and hold a 52% pass rate for their Radiology program. Imagine graduating with 30-40K in student loans to not pass state licensing, and then have the class told that the school doesn't teach to pass any state required exams. They have withheld money from students and when it was brought to the attention of a higher authority, they blamed it on "a miscommunication". Make sure to communicate your complaints to an outside source, like the Dept. of Ed. or VA, so it reflects on the school. Keiser or its staff do not care about anything other than money!

This university presents considerable challenges, particularly for veterans. Despite assurances that expenses would be covered through the GI BILL, this has not been the case. I've encountered numerous instances where required textbooks were unavailable at the bookstore, necessitating significant out-of-pocket expenses. Additionally, many math courses mandate the purchase of expensive online access codes, further burdening students who have already paid for their classes.

Furthermore, the faculty and staff's response to student concerns has been unsatisfactory. Issues are often redirected without resolution, leaving students feeling isolated and unsupported. Particularly troubling is the consistent delay or non-receipt of housing allowances for GI BILL recipients, requiring frequent follow-ups with the school.

In light of these challenges, I would advise prospective students to consider alternative institutions to avoid unnecessary stress and financial strain.

Edit: Do not be swayed by the responses to my initial review. The issues I raised were only addressed after my negative feedback was posted, which is unacceptable. When a student raises concerns with the appropriate departments, they should be addressed promptly. Given the high tuition fees, it is reasonable to expect timely and effective action. Additionally, other students have shared similar experiences with me personally. Furthermore, the GI Bill for veterans does not cover the bachelor's degree programs offered, which is a significant drawback for veteran students.

I was calling to re schedule with Alex from admissions and a lady from admissions picked up the phone, I explained i got called into work and needed to re schedule. I replied with in a week would work. She asked why I was waiting so long because they don't schedule a week in ahead. well quite frankly that's none of her business why do i need to give her a reason, we make it or we dont ...
Her tone of voice was enough for me to hang-up. That's my first experience I will not pay 50,000 for school if i'm already experiencing rude admission advisors.

The radiology program there was a joke that program director / Dean back in the day who started the radiology program is the lowest of low.The school wants nothing but your money and could care less if you passed or not leaving you in 50,000+ dollar debt.

As a current accelerated BSN student, here is my honest review;

I am an LPN with 8 years of prior medical experience. I served active duty and "shopped" nursing schools in Florida for over 2 years before ending my contract and relocating here for nursing school. Out of USF, Univ of Tampa, U of F, UCF, Herzing, and Galen; Keiser is the only school that actually communicated with me and answered my questions, followed up, answered my calls, and always got back to me within 2-3 business days. Anessa is incredible in admissions, and is truly gifted in guiding students through their educational paths.
The interview and application process for the accelerated BSN program was incredibly simple and transparent, I knew what was expected of me as far as scheduling, class hours, study requirements, etc. The only thing that caught me off guard was the advertisement of having two programs; an accelerated program for those with prior medical experience and pre-requisites completed, and then a fast track program for those with a prior completed bachelors degree in another field. These are the same program, and I was surprised to be blended in with students with no prior medical training or experience whatsoever, seeing as how these students required a different teaching/learning style then myself.
The actual program, now that I am past the first semester, is designed to be difficult. The first semester does indeed weed out those that cannot handle extreme stress, multiple assignments daily, multiple exams/quizzes/homework/busy work/labs/skills etc assigned daily... and that I can get with, weed out some students that may need more time to prepare.
As we progress into the program however, you are fully teaching yourself. There are a small handful of gifted teachers that are blessed with the skill of educating students and expressing a topic to where each different learning style can understand; and then there are teachers that I feel are thrown into major courses (Medsurg 2, Pathophysiology, Clinical Decision Making) that are required for the "student to nurse" transformation that is supposed to take place in nursing school, and these teachers are not necessarily prepared or supported by staff.
The assignment list will change 2-4x a week. The plan for the week will change every day. The skills labs that are supposed to be hands on training for 3-5 skills and it will take 2-3 weeks to sign off one class on 1 skill resulting in some skills being completely bypassed... During orientation for the program, the school administrators stressed that we as students needed to be prepared, organized, and anticipate expectations throughout the program, and we feel as students we are not being given the same standards. The teachers are sincere in their efforts, but some are overwhelmed and unable to teach a class of 20+ students such a necessary course.
For $40,000+ a year, with no housing included, I fully expected at least the assignment list to be clear and finalized so I know what is expected of me. I also somewhat expected support from administration when these concerns are announced from multiple students. It worries me for those that are not able to completely teach themselves such an important subject, and shows why nursing orientations of 6+ months or longer are becoming the norm.
Keiser University needs to hire more educators, and provide better support for staff and students who are not on the same page as far as coursework expectations and learning outcome milestones that students are expected to meet. I hope the program improves, however, when prospect nursing students ask me if I recommend Keiser's nursing program, I quickly tell them not at all and highly recommend completing the 2-3 year programs at traditional colleges/universities where they will have time to actually learn the material, and have clear expectations about assignments, learning topics, ACTUAL hands on skills training (despite a beautiful simulation lab available to nursing students and educators) and a much better nursing school journey as a whole.

In my own experience, my admissions counselor Anessa was wonderful. She's very caring for everyone she helps. She called me to make sure I was okay and was with me every step of the process. I got accepted and financial aid was polite and helpful. So far everything is working out and the staff is so nice. Atleast the ones I have encountered. It is more pricey than some other schools is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars. I will give an update if anything changes.

Keiser replied to this post BUT LET ME JUST SAY THAT YOU DID NOT CARE WHEN IM CRYING ASKING WHAT I SHOULD DO WHEN I HAD NO IDEA THAT I HAD A REAL LOAN. You also did NOT get back to the BBB thing I put out on you guys…. What so you can answer here but when it’s through the BBB you don’t… interesting. They do not care about you or your education. Awful. The place swindled me into an actual loan not a student loan then took my grant then when they called me in to reapply for FAFSA when I got into the office they said oh no you have to reapply for your loan can your dad be a co-signer? Like no this is FAFSA why would I need a co-signer? They told me sorry well until you can get a co-signer you can’t return… cool so I just spent 6 months doing this only to find out I DONT HAVE FAFSA I HAVE A REGULAR PRIVATE LOAN which was not discussed with me it was a look over here don’t worry about reading through that and sign. I feel so stupid for trusting my “advisor” this has to be a joke and now I have over 8k they want me to pay to them…. I have tried so hard to get their account taken off of my credit due to feeling like they took advantage of knowing I had a mental disability and they sure took a payday out of it by taking that grant money. This “university” is a joke it’s a scam off the side of a highway. Oh you also won’t be getting any documents of your credits either so that’s fun. DO NOT GO HERE listen to the other reviews as well THIS IS A SCAM
