Love the atmosphere. Nothing but friendly people there. I don't have to worry about the money since I'm a student. The best gym I have been in. Does get a little crowded mid-day but thats a people thing, not a gym thing.

As a full time student at JSU, I have come to enjoy the rec center! Ever since I started going I have found more to do every time. Between the rock climbing wall, the game center , the workout rooms , the treadmill and fitness equipment, and the pool there so so much more to do. Overall, everyone here is friendly and the people working here will motivate you to achieve your goals!

Here's the pros and cons. I'll start with pros:
Very beautiful inside. Spacious. Huge rock climbing wall about 3 stories tall. Barista. Friendly staff.
Very clean facility. No start up fees. Nice indoor walking track. Basketball courts. Exercise classes classes such as zumba, spin, and others. Tons of cardio things treadmills, etc.

Cons: Leave your valuables in your car. There's
very few of the locking mechanisms on the lockers that actually work, which is surprising for a 35 million $ facility. The workout equipment is spread out all over in various nooks and crannies and different rooms causing you to have to search for equipment to work different muscle groups. Would be great if machines were more centrally located. Also this place is very expensive compared to comparable gyms. $47 per month. Ouch! If you're alumni the price drops to $42. Still too high. I guess that's why there's no start up fee. Also, hours of operation are a bit strange to me. If you want to work out on Saturday morning, you have to wait till 10 a.m. when they open.

drove in for the rock climbing wanted to try out their boldering wasn't allowed in because the attendant for rock climbing was gone there is a lady who can see the whole wall sitting RIGHT IN FRONT OF IT no stadf is needed to operate a boldering wall people should just be able to climb

I was a visitor at a birthday party for my great granddaughters & the entrance an pool area is where I visited & I thought it was gorgeous,,just loved it,wish I could be a member....
