Great affordable school, and some really great professors here. However, prior to purchasing textbooks, always ALWAYS look online for cheaper. I made that mistake a couple of times. Thankfully they were great with returns…. But this can get expensive even as a Jr. college so do plan ahead regarding supplies and textbooks!

My daughter signed up for a summer course which was inaccurately described in their ā€œcourse catalogā€. She struggled with the course format of strictly online without any live/zoom instruction and everything being from the book. The ā€œprofessorā€ was only able to meet twice a week for office hours which was not explained in the course summary. He dumped all the information and details 24 hours before the course started, well past the date where she could have asked for a refund. My daughter has text anxiety so she asked about the JJCs disability resources and accommodations- the ā€œprofessorā€ had no clue, and sent her an email address to contact for their disability resource department… one individual who was out all summer with no alternative. Basically, anyone seeking accommodations for the summer semester was out of luck, with no one to help at all. When my daughter explained this to the ā€œprofessorā€ he emailed her back saying ā€œyeah, you probably shouldn’t have taken this course- it’s really for math majors only (we have the actual email).

My daughter ended up dropping the course and asking for a refund due to these circumstances and was shut down within a week, as all these reasons weren’t legitimate to JJC- and once they decide, there’s no appealing. The ā€œadvisorā€ was completely indifferent to her experience because she was a visiting student taking a summer course. Didn’t care at all about my daughters experience or struggles due to the poor course description and only told her that she could drop and request a refund…. Completely emotionless, robotic response.

So, don’t spend your money to take courses here. They don’t care about their true purpose of education, misrepresent their courses, have NO disability support or accommodation assistance in the summer, and only care about quickly cashing your check.

I attended this school for a good amount of years. You can find some amazing, lovely teachers. For being located in Joliet, the campus is beautiful. They have a good variety of subjects/degrees/certificates. I think they recycle too which is great. This was a really great transition for me before going to a university. I really got the hang of college here. I learned a lot here. I am proud I went here. I would go here again. It felt like home to me. It's legit and accredited.

I use to be a student here back from 2010 to 2014 . I thought the lunch was very nasty besides the frappe coffee , that was good. From my experience of being there the education there sucks. The counselors put you in a whole bunch of classes that are not required for your major so basically you might be wasting your time. If you are planning on transferring to another college make sure all of your credits transfer over to the other college because not all of your credits might transfer over.

This place was like a second home to me. Every teacher I had was nice to me. I especially loved visiting the Planetarium. That taught me all sorts of amazing things about space.ļæ¼ I also enjoyed going to the fitness center. I graduated from Joliet Junior College in 2015. There are times I wish I could come back to visit my favorite teachers.

This is the best college I have attended since from the very beginning I walk in the lady at the front desk was happy and please to help me to register for this campus . I am now on my 3rd semester the professors do care about their student this school does have a high quality education and I will be graduating in fall 2018 thanks to the staff. When I started my program and had questions the counselor listen to me attentive and carefully and she made sure to give me all the information about my graduation plan and my major. I am very please and happy to have made the choice to attend this school.

Have been coming here for 4+ years and I love it. All of my teachers over the years have been AMAZING except one. This campus is beautiful and has a lot to offer. One thing I wish JJC had is a nice gym for students. Let us use the athletic gym, please! Fitness is super important, especially to students.

I dropped 2 classes from JJC and asked for a refund, the lady I was speaking to had said she dropped my classes and my refund should be a check in the mail and arrive in no more than 10 business days…10 business days have gone by and I still haven’t gotten my refund. So I called and asked them what’s going on and the lady I was talking to said I was never put on the refund list and I would have to wait even longer for my refund to return. This is ridiculous service by the office staff and blatant lies on behalf of whoever told me I would get a refund. Why was it that hard to put me or anyone else on the list? While JJC itself a good school the office staff can use some work. Just my personal experience with them
