I just enrolled into Jeff State. A little jarring setting up for classes and understanding credit hrs and whatnot but the aid and advisors couldn't have been nicer. I started in the Diploma program, then ACE program to get a tuition free course (I choose Biology) and looking to major in Anthropology. The journey begins!

I would rate zero, this college is the worst college.
1. No one will answer phones.
2. Financial aid have no clue what they are doing
3. The student services seem to not work after 8pm every night. It will continue to tell you “log in error” until the next day
4. Teachers do not care for students or answer emails
5. I have not been there for a year now and still have issues when trying to get information from them when needing transcripts
6. They told me when trying to register that none of my classes went to my financial aid. Then a day later they magically work.
7.I was constantly told “they are not here today” or “we don’t know how to answer that we will transfer you to another person” just for the next person not to answer the next phone

This review goes exclusively for the Workforce Development Department. I went to school for 6 months at Jefferson State in the Medical Assistant program in 2019. Apparently, my teacher had turned in that I had too many absences; therefore, I was never awarded my certificate of completion 2 years ago, and I had NO IDEA. Even after the instructor made me believe that is was okay to miss the last class (and thankfully, I still had the email to prove it) she marked that absence, and it took me over the days we were allowed to miss. MRS. COKER in the Workforce Education Department is a GOD SEND!! She listened to me cry and freak out for almost 30 minutes (so embarrassing, but I was understandably upset) and she had me write a grievance email and she brought it straight to the director & had the previous decision overturned! I got my certificate of completion yesterday! Mrs. Coker, THANK YOU. And thank you to the Director of the Workforce Development Department for listening to what I had to say and BELIEVING me. You have no idea how much that meant to me!

An excellent school. Clean, friendly, professional environment.

My Only problem, along with MANY OTHERS, Ms. G.

She taught chemistry & enjoyed "hearing herself talk ". Apparently she was so very "stacked"with degrees, she wanted to make everyone suffer by intentionally making the course harder than it needed to be.

I saw her as a trickster more so than a teacher. I have never met a teacher who wanted students to fail as much as she did. A little control went WAY too far for her.

Other than her, it was all knuckling down studying hard to be the best registered nurse I could be.

Thank you Jeff State for being a true Community College with excellence, integrity and a willingness to listen to students when the need arises.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I was well prepared for the job I loved.

I ususlly do not have a problem with jeffstate, but today the bookstore customer service was trash. I understand they never have the books u need. But dang, they wouldn't even order the books for me from a different campus. I never had this problem before. They told me to purchase online. But I can not use my voucher to get my books!!! Smh

If I could rate zero stars, I would. This campus is managed by idiots. I have never had such a difficult time enrolling for a class, inconsistent information , the people in admissions did not know how to do their job at all. I became so frustrated that I refused to waste anymore time trying to attend this school. I enjoyed attending the Pharmacy tech program at the Shelby campus, but I cannot handle the stupidity at this main campus. God Bless the people who have the patience to attend this campus and are actually complete a semester at this campus. I will just patiently wait to enroll into the program at a better school ran by people/students who actually know what they are doing.

This is the absolute worst college I've ever seen. They have constantly lost my paperwork over the 2 semesters that I went there and now that I am transferring out of there to Wallace State Community College they have put a hold on my student account with them which is blocking them from sending a final transcript to Wallace State after I'd already requested that they send a transcript after spring grades were posted to it and they ignored the check mark on the send at the end of term and sent Wallace an incomplete transcript. I already know what the hold is for because they just sent me a college exit financial aid paperwork as if I'm not going to be going to college at all anymore even though their aware of me transferring out because of already sending Wallace State a transcript once. It seems their trying to block me from getting a complete education from another higher quality college.
