As an adopted kid going through the foster system, I had my fair share of trouble. I basically lived at this place. My foster mom would purposefully have me and my other brothers sent here for multiple hours. She'd leave me there for so long the ladies at the desk would ask "your mother knows she has to come get you right?"
Coming from multiple abusive foster and biological families, it's hard even finding the right help. Especially just someone to listen! This place failed to do either. It is built favoring to the parents. "Parents" who use this facility as a means to punish and disregard. Those working only looked and catered to the adults perspective, and the opinions and feelings of the kids there were unacknowledged. Not once did anyone reach out or ask if I needed help or the very least if I was okay. Everyone always just sees a troubled child, no one asks why that child seems troubled.
