I am thankful for the work Janay has done with our 6 year old daughter, Ember. This coaching program not only helped her, it also helped me. Ember was constantly putting herself down and had a lot of negative self talk. On top of that there was more and more sneaky behavior and lying.I felt like I was disconnecting with her and constantly being the “bad guy”. I needed extra help. I saw Janay’s ad about mindfulness on Facebook, the timing was perfect.
She provided me with a new vocabulary that I could say to Ember . Saying things like “time to make a Power Shift” or “let’s shake off our grungies”, made me feel like I was better communicating with my daughter. We did 10 weeks of Janay’s coaching program and Ember has been able to show so much more integrity, and has a much better self talk. Ember and I have a better bond than before, and can communicate better on her level. Thanks again Janay.

Our journey began when our son’s streak of doing exceptionally well in school hit a snag. In the 4th grade our son scored low on the reading comprehension section of the ERB (Educational Records Bureau) test. The ERB is a standardized test all the 4th graders took. At the time our son’s grades were excellent including his grade in reading. The low reading comprehension score on the ERB did not reconcile with how our son did in classroom reading. At the time the teachers chalked it up to our son just not being a good test taker. Then in 5th grade our son again scored low on the reading compression portion of the ERB test. This time we knew something was wrong and decided to find a resource outside of our son’s school to address the issue. Shortly before our son entered middle school (6th) grade; we had the good fortune to find Janay. She could not have been a more perfect fit for our son. She was able to connect with our son in ways no other teacher had. She quickly identified the specific area of reading that needed attention. Our 6th grade son had the vocabulary of a 10th grader, but read passively. He did poorly at making implicit connections with the readings. Janay was able to implement a strategy to address our son’s particular reading deficiency. We are so happy to report that our son showed remarkable improvement on his school’s 6th grade reading assessment. Our son scored in the 96th percentile and had a lexile level of 1224. NONE of this would have happened if not for the loving tutelage of Janay. We would recommend Janay to any parent without hesitation. Janay’s ability to connect with our son and her targeted learning path sets her apart from other tutors.

Janay is just the best ! our little guy was pretty shy at first, but they way she can get them to open up and excited to learn is pretty cool. she is the sweetest and has fun way of learning, our son learned so much in a short amount of time. Can't recommend her enough !
