I went here for a CAP leadership school over a weekend, and everything there was top notch: everywhere was clean, all military personnel were very kind and respectful, and I had an overall great experience here. I recommend going here if you get the chance.

Recently attended an out-sourced course at the IMA; this review is purely for the facility- not the course (there was limited info online about the facility available prior to attending).

The IMA is one building with classrooms, a large auditorium, two fitness centers, and standard housing rooms.

I stayed in a BEQ room at the rate of $35/ night. The room had two beds, two desks, two dressers, a mini-fridge, microwave, and a bathroom. Very minimal in terms of amenities, but enough for the two week stay.

Other room types available include a single room with one bed and a shared bathroom (E-7 and above) as well as a bay with four bunk beds (no bathroom).

The rooms are partially cleaned daily- most days the trash bag is emptied and the toilet/ sink is wiped down. The linen is also swapped if you strip your bed and put it on the floor.

Laundry is free, and there are four washers and dryers on each floor. There are also vending machines all around the facility and an ATM on-site.

The facility has Wifi available but it barely ever worked in the housing wing. They mentioned that a storm hit the day before I arrived and took out the Wifi. They also said that it would be fixed as soon as possible, two weeks later it was still cutting out every few minutes and would be down again.

There is also no dedicated DFAC on site. They have a DFAC but do not employ anyone to work it. Your course may or may not provide a catering service, mine did not however.

Some noteworthy things to keep in mind prior to your stay is that if you stay in BEQ or a Bay you will have roommates. The entire base at Camp Lincoln has strict rules on designated smoking areas and an absolutely zero tolerance policy on alcohol. There are bars surrounding the Post, but you cannot consume alcohol at all on Camp Lincoln.

The PX is currently a trailer as the normal PX is under construction. Hours are limited, and are generally M-F 0900-1700 from my understanding.

Overall, the IMA is okay facility. The classrooms and auditorium were well set up, the housing rooms were acceptable, and the facility was overall clean. The biggest knocks in my opinion were the Wifi, no dedicated DFAC, and the strict rules surrounding smoking and alcohol.

I’ve been to far worse places for the Army, so 3/5 stars it is!

Better than nothing a far as lodging is concerned. However, there is no way this place would pass a state health inspection as far as living conditions are concerned in the bunk bays. Roaches/bugs all over the floors, and dust bunnies everywhere. Had to keep my luggage off the floor so no bugs could crawl in it.

Plus, no wifi?....c'mon, its 2022. Uniformed service members and their families deserve better than this.

The museum has several unique displays such as Santa Anna's leg and items from President Lincoln. Check the museum hours in order to allow enough time (approximately 90min).
