I was warned on the phone that the people at this office don't like to do their job but I didn't realize how right they were. I turned in all paper work needed, on time, and they lost it. So I brought the documents in AGAIN and THEY STILL DIDNT DO THEIR JOBS!!!!!! I HAD TO CALL THE 800 NUMBER AND THEY FIXED IT!! As far I'm concerned you should have no staff in that office because it's a waste of tax payers dollars. They are refusing to do their job and then laughing at the people who pay their salary. To the lady in the office my wife dealt with, you aren't even qualified enough to work at mcdonald's. You need to be fired.......

It literally being part of my job to contact different social service agencies throughout the country, I can safely say that this phone system and the difficulty I've had with reaching the county employee who reached out to me first is literally the worst. And then the person who did eventually answer acted like I was just asking the hardest question in the world getting an employee's email (with tons of background noise because I guess she was working at home?). I then followed her instructions and of course the email did not go through. I cannot imagine the struggle these clients must go through every day with this place.

Terrible employees who constantly berate you and make you feel less than. Let's also add in the fact that they changed my appointment date last minute without notifying me. This branch is a joke and needs to fire and rehire every employee inside of that building. My, and so many others, life depends on that little extra help, and these people make it harder and harder for you to obtain those benefits and live a healthier life.

I am disappointed in the way that phone calls are handled.
100% of the services handled at DHS are life changing. No one should have to wait on hold for hours to be heard. Then when we are heard, the person on the other end of the phone (by no fault of their own) is EXTREMELY overworked and tired of hearing sob stories. I totally get that, however because of this the employees are not able to give 100% of their best to the people in need. The DHS office has never been fun to deal with. But Covid has made it much worse. You can’t get in touch with a real human on the phone or in office, because everyone is “working from home”. This has caused wait times to be worse, people in need are going with out. The very office that is supposed to be helping is making things more difficult for Gamaliel in need. I am disgusted.

These people are rude and notoriously difficult to get in touch with. I have tried for WEEKS to get a live person on the phone. Left numerous voice messages. I have become super frustrated. The times they have called, they mysteriously never ring through on my phone and go right to voicemail. I literally have zero logs of them calling me on a scheduled interview date and time yet they were able to leave me a voicemail even though I had my phone on me and turned up for the 2 hour time slot they scheduled me for. How is it they are able to do this? When someome did finally call me back she left a very rude message claiming different times and dates they "called" me which a few were false and had a VERY snotty tone. I do not appreciate being treated like crap just because we need some extra help. We work, pay income and property taxes, and just need a little tiny extra help. To be treated like scum by people getting paid by the state with our own tax dollars anyways, makes me sick. These people have no compassion.

Staff was incredible!!! Angela (1 of 2 Angela's there) was AMAZING!! Due to health complications, now in middle age, I had to seek help for the 1st time in my working life (since 15 years old).
I was terrified!!!
She'd been thru the system herself & couldn't have been more helpful, kind, respectful, caring, professional & all around INCREDIBLE!!! There is so much more I am grateful to her for. She never treated me "less than".
I have to thank everyone in that office for their kindness & care!
Bless you all & know YOU make a difference in our lives!! Thank you!!

It seems like they never read their mail when it's time to renew. They never answer the phone or return phone calls. A few years ago they claimed my husband had 2 jobs and wanted pay stubs (I.D.O.T. and state comptroller). I had to explain and verify that state workers get paid by the Comptroller (they're state workers you'd think they'd know this information) and it's not a second job. They still denied renewal because they said I failed to send verification. They never once returned phone calls or mailed letters or communicated in person about their misunderstanding. Now we are on it again and in Feb they wanted me to renew and send all necessary paperwork. I did as requested. I Never received any further communication, until this month (May), I received another renewal application with a letter stating that failure to comply will drop my coverage. Where is my last application and paperwork I sent in Feb?!!!!

Think the biggest issue is with people not knowing what to do or ask for are they don't want to go in. If they did go in instead of calling they would get real professional help. It would help to answer the phone. Maybe if everybody show respect to one another and stop feeling entitled the reviews and service could be better all around.l
