Complete waste of time and energy, a complete money grab. We contacted Charlotte at the beginning of the school year after considering signing one of our children up for the 8+. There is only one school we decided to target (which an older sibling currently attends) and we were very clear with Charlotte about our intentions. Before committing to any lessons, we were assured that our child would be assessed at the first lesson to determine their current level, how far they were from where they needed to be in each subject, and whether it was realistic to fill the gap given the amount of time and lessons possible before the exam (taking into consideration the requirements for the specific test). After the first assessment we were told our son was a strong candidate to pass the specific test we had discussed, and we proceeded to waste close to 1K on tutoring. In the session leading up to the exam, we found out that the woman who had been tutoring our son didn't even know which exam our son was signed up for, was completely unaware of the content on that test and hadn't once assessed him, introduced him, or taught him anything on one critical subject that made up 1/3 of the test which our son had never seen--Reasoning. We were told after the test that our son scored one of the lowest scores of all candidates in that test area, no doubt because he didn't even understand what was being asked of him--the first time he had even encountered any reasoning questions was on the day of the test. Complete failure all around and would avoid this tutoring company at all costs. Their interests are not aligned with the clients, they are negligent and only care about booking sessions to make money, not to pass a test.

My daughter has really enjoyed The Hyde tutoring courses. It’s always a good sign when kids are happy and willing to go, and come away feeling like they learnt a lot but in a fun way. The courses are well thought out and designed, small in nature so personal, the teachers all seem lovely, and most of all the feedback afterwards is really helpful.

We have been using Hyde tutoring for a couple of years for 1:1 tutoring for our son and cannot rate it highly enough. Not only has it immensely helped him academically, it has been great for his confidence in his ability and most importantly he looks forward to his weekly sessions with his tutor.
He’s also just completed an online 11+ prep course which was really engaging and provided him with some really useful strategies in VR and NVR which he’s previously found tricky.

We recently signed up for Hyde Tutoring's reasoning revision courses and were lucky to get a spot, as it was fully booked when we first enquired! We were incredibly impressed. The course was well-structured, with all materials provided (ours was online, so they were posted to us), and we received a full report at the end. The standard was high, and the pacing was excellent. But most importantly, our usually not-so-keen 10-year-old loved it.
Rachel was fun and engaging. She had the work set up on a separate app, which worked seamlessly both during and after the lesson. She even checked their work afterward, providing valuable feedback. During the break, the children had the option to take 10 minutes off or stay on to play word games—and all of them chose to stay and play!
We had worried that a revision week during the holidays might be too much, but it didn’t feel that way for our son. He really enjoyed himself and learned a lot—we could see a clear improvement in his test scores by the end of the week!
