Unprofessional and Poorly Managed

I had a very disappointing experience with the Huntington Learning Center in Round Rock, TX. After transferring to the Georgetown location due to ongoing issues, I requested a refund in prepaid funds. However, I was told it would take months due to “cash flow restraints.” A business’s inability to manage its finances should not be the customer’s problem, and we demanded a refund for services that were never provided. After corporate intervention, we finally received our refund.

Additionally, despite multiple requests, they failed to provide account statements, progress reports, or reevaluations. Progress reports and account statements were continually requested but never received. The lack of transparency and professionalism is deeply concerning. I do not recommend this location.

Thank you for your response. We truly did enjoy our tutor, and that’s the primary reason we continued for as long as we did, as we did see improvements with our daughter. However, when that relationship broke down, we were left with no choice but to cancel unexpectedly.

The explanation regarding not sharing accounting details over email seems like an excuse for not providing basic information that should have been readily available. This isn’t healthcare information we’re requesting, but simple account statements and dates/times for tutoring. After months of repeated requests, the only offer to review the account statements in person came at the very end of the process when corporate got involved.

In terms of progress reports, my understanding of a progress report is a physical document outlining how my child is progressing in specific areas. While the teacher did offer in person updates, I did not consider those to be formal progress reports, nor were there any reevaluations or meetings to discuss her growth or challenges with management.

Additionally, we were originally told there would be tutoring in both math and reading. However, between April and January, my daughter only received tutoring in reading. This lack of follow-through on services we were promised contributed to our decision to cancel.

As demonstrated by the response we received, the management team’s inability to acknowledge these issues and their dismissive attitude towards our concerns only reinforced our decision to part ways.

To say I am grateful is an understatement. Huntington Learning Center in Round Rock has been an excellent tutoring resource for my son, Ian. The personalized attention and tailored programs have significantly helped him improve his academic skills. The tutors are patient and knowledgeable, creating a positive learning environment. I highly recommend it for parents seeking quality academic support for their children!

This is not what we were promised. We were told that it would be "easy" to raise her score 200 points and ensured us this would be the outcome. Everyone we spoke with kept saying 200 points. Also, they "calculated" the 44 hours of study would do it. No one mentioned having to do extra practice tests and no one ever mentioned or offered a review session.

Again, we will reiterate that we were sold on a "sales pitch" and the results did not come anywhere close to what was being sold. We were definitely duped out of almost $4,000 dollars and want to warn anyone else that this may happen to them.

Our daughter needed help with the SAT. We had multiple meetings with Huntington and they all promised that they could bring her score up 200 points easy they said. She currently has a 4.9 GPA so she is smart and a very quick learner.

They assessed her and said it would take 44 hours of SAT study with their program to see significant results. She took the 44 HOURS of study and immediately when she was finished took the SAT again. Her score only went from a 1200 to a 1230.

We are highly disappointed with the promises that were made. We feel we were deceived for an extremely high price of $3,500 for 30 points.

We would advise you to save your money. 30 points on an SAT is not going to make a difference on whether you submit your scores or not. We are not going to submit her 1230 since it's not a competitive score, therefore, we paid $3,500 for absolutely nothing.

I am so happy I brought my daughter to Huntington Learning Center in Round Rock. The support she received at Huntington paid off in a huge way, with my daughter bringing up her SAT score more than 200 points. The staff was able to pinpoint her weaknesses and assist her in developing necessary academic skills as well as test-taking skills. She went into the SAT with much improved confidence, and she knocked the test out of the ballpark - exceeding her own expectations and scoring high enough to get accepted to all of the schools where she applied! I attribute her success to the Huntington staff and my daughter's hard work under their guidance. I highly recommend their services.

Huntington has help my son who was struggling with AP classes. They matched him with a tutor who has helped him fill in the gaps after a year and a half of online learning. My son feels these sessions have been very beneficial. I’m happy that we made the decision to register for tutoring at the Huntington Learning Center in Round Rock.

Update: THAT IS A LIE AND YOU KNOW IT!!!!!!! SHE WAS CANCLED ON AT LEAT 6 TIMES. EMAIL THE ATTENDANCE RECORDS AND ILL PROVE IT.

They've canceled on my daughter at least half a dozen times and then, the person who takes her to tutoring, her grandmother is in the hospital. I called today to let them know that she won't be making it, just to be told that they're going to charge me for my daughter missing this session because they didn't receive 48 hours notice but the six sessions before that they have canceled on me last minute don't matter. I was specifically told that I would be getting makeup sessions for my daughter scheduled for those weeks and they never happened and the one time that I call with a family emergency because an individual is hospitalized in our family they want to charge me for the missed session. I'll be contacting the Better Business Bureau and suing. It's the principle not the money.
