This made a HUGE difference to my son's ACT score. We were reluctant at first with only a few weeks before the ACT and we evaluated the cost. Drew explained all aspects to consider with our best interest in mind instead of trying to "sell" us on using Huntington. His tutor, Bridget focused on improving his Reading score because of the short timeframe. I'm excited to say his Reading improved by 6 points, his overall score went to 30 with a super score of 31! We're very glad we did this and highly recommend them to others! Worth every penny! Thanks so much!

The staff at Huntington are, in my opinion, miracle workers. My son came to them, extremely resistant to school, well below grade level and after 4 different schools had basically thrown up their hands and surrendered. After a little more than a year, he enjoys school and is testing significantly above grade level.

To put this in perspective, my son is up, now, by at least five grade levels in a little more than one year.

I can't say enough good things about Jory, Kellie, Drew, Stephanie, Stephanie, Patty and Roxy. They had to be very creative to design a curriculum for my son that would engage him, they went above and beyond constantly trying and correcting to keep him on track. The staff at Huntington Cherry Grove were, without question, absolutely dedicated to my son's success, and more importantly, his happiness. My husband and I, and our son, are beyond satisfied and grateful, our expectations were surpassed beyond reason.

I don't think it's putting too fine a point on it to say that Jory and his exemplary staff have changed our son's life.

In a very limited time, my child was able to increase his ACT score by 7 points thanks to the tutors and program at the Huntington Learning Center in Anderson, Ohio. Huntington’s program helped by increasing my child’s test taking skills, analysis of the test and assessment of my child’s academic deficiencies. It was well worth the investment in the program and my child’s future!

If you have $15,000 to spare then this place might be great in helping your child overcome their academic struggles. For me, I do not have such a large chunk of change floating around and so I left my sons results conference feeling like a miserable parent who couldn't give her child what he needed. Prices weren't quoted when we first inquired about services because we were told they don't give out cost totals until after an initial assessment, which was 4.5 hours long and cost $200. We took the bait of this well-known sales tactic and signed our son up for the assessment. A few days after the batterey of tests I sat down for a two hour conference to go over the results. At the very end, when the struggles of my child were confirmed with statistical data, I was quoted a need for 134 hours of instruction with a price tag of over $15,000. I was told I could make the payment in two installments of over $7000, or pay almost $1600 a month instead. 😳 Furthermore, they insisted on my sons attendance twice a week, for two hours at a time, but prefered we make it three days a week. My son doesn't even get out of school until 4:30pm and the center closes at 8pm. Bascially, with the scheduling they offered me, my son would have to leave school and go straight to Huntington and wouldn't even get home to have dinner until 7:30pm My son is 9-years-old with a developmental delay so this schedule seems insane to me. Also, I was told the center was currently full and that they didn't have enough tuitors anyway. The schedule was limited and they hadn't figured out a way to fit my son in without me pulling him out of school.
Kids typically need 75-200 hours of instruction apparently so you are probably looking between $8,000-20,000.
I can't speak on the effectiveness of the program because we can't afford this extortionate cost and even if we could I am not sure I would want to push such a heavy work load onto my child.
In the end we found a company where a tutor comes to the house for $48 an hour, no hidden fees, and offers a free in-home assessment. The company we have gone with recommends 2 one hour sessions to begin with. 134 hours of instruction with this other institution will be almost 2.5 times cheaper and can be paid week-by-week.
I hope this review helps other parents avoid that gut-wrenching feeling of not being able to provide for their child because of an unbelievable price tag. I wish this company would be more transparent about their pricing and process so parents can avoid wasting money and time on an investment that can never come to fruition.
