Plenty of community sports activities.

UPDATE ... As of May 2024 ... Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meets daily @ noon in their meeting room ... Many of the photos show how to find the daily meeting. (No NA on Saturday or Sundays)

This is a great little community center for Walsenburg, Colorado and surrounding area. Parking is open air and partially paved. They have handicap designated parking and it is wheelchair friendly. I was impressed that out in front, beside the flagpole is a stone market dedicating the facility to all the brave souls who have served our country in the armed forces. The doorways are wheelchair friendly, though not automatic. There are gender specific restrooms that are narrow but could be managed in a wheelchair. The building has a main gymnasium that doubled as a large meeting area. I was there for the memorial service for my cousin who passed away recently. It appeared that there were between 150 and 200 people in attendance and the gymnasium was large 3nough for that and the potluck meal that followed. Besides the main room or gymnasium, there are (I believe) 4 smaller meeting rooms. I was not in any of those to know how large they are. The facility was clean and appeared in good repair. I think this is a wonderful community gathering place for the small town of Walsenburg and the surrounding Huerfano County.

This is a nice building in Walsenburg used for many meetings, other events, and some Huerfano County Offices. Because of its location near the river, the building is currently surrounded by large green sand filled bags designed to protected it from enhanced flood damage in the five years following the 2018 forest fire to the west of Walsenburg.

The senior services meals are wonderful! Yvette Vialpando is an excellent cook!!!
