I worked for these folks.
Some days are good, and some days are plain horrible, but that's life, right?
Shawn with Hope House can be one of the kindest people in the world, and then, in the very next minute, will blow off the handle and curse like a sailor & be furious with everyone. I had to stay in my office on many occasions when she was like this. I started to report her, but she let it be known when we were hired that she made the rules. She didn't have to abide by them.
She has helped many people, I'll give her that. Even myself. For sure. She has her methods.
But as far as employment & working for her. That's a tremendous challenge & I was not up for it, especially after she worked with COVID coughing on everything & gave it to me. Rough stuff. Tis why I ended up leaving.
Others have not faired well working with her either. One fellow only made it a week, I think. Others left before that.
So, enter at your own risk.
As I said, there are good and bad. As with everything.
What's worse, after I resigned, she wouldn't even receive my calls or answer my texts, even though I was supposed to be on "sick leave", per her request, for a short period of time. Oh, well. (I think it had to do with her sponsors & her not wanting them to know another employee quit because of her.) But hey, that's just my opinion from working with her & learning how she thinks.
Got a much, much better-paying job now anyway.
The program does help a lot of folks with rehabilitation. If they're willing to commit, they can overcome & do better for themselves.
I really do wish they'd remove my picture from their website since I haven't been employed there since March of 2022!
