The director Kiffi seemed quite inconvenienced to have to "deal" with my inquiry from the moment I initially called. It left me hesitant but I continued with the enrollment process. I explained that I have a child on an IEP and she stated that they do support children on an IEP. She said they would review the IEP and get in touch with me. When I called to touch base Kiffi seemed increasingly agitated that I was bothering her. 20 minutes later she called my sons father to let him know that my child was not accepted as they are not equip to handle a child of his nature. This struck me as odd bc my child's IEP isn't all that complex; also an alternative school is just that.... and ALTERNATIVE for children who are not succeeding in a traditional environment. I feel this was a poor judgement call simply made bc the staff was inconvenienced at being bothered. If we can not harness a child success through an alternative environment... how can we claim to be an alternative school? In conclusion... if your child is on an IEP or has behavioral issues, this school will reject them. Keep fighting, keep advocating for your children, and don't let schools like this leave you feeling defeated. We will always have a voice!
