My daughter has attended highline since 2nd grade and after 5 elementary schools. It is our favorite. My daughter finally has a great, diverse group of friends. The teachers are always kind, and every year I truly feel like my daughter is cared about. She's also doing better in her classes than in her past schools.

It breaks my heart to see these polarized reviews. These teachers and this staff are amazing.

My experience at this school was not the the best, instead of fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment, they discouraged students who didn’t fit their mold. The administration was no better. Complaints about unfair treatment were brushed aside, and nothing was ever done to address those teachers and one of the assistant principals Ms.Gallegos was incredibly hypocritical. There was good teachers like Mr. O'Connell and Ms.Clark and a amazing math teacher (Mr. Truelock) Which from information told by others All but one still work as teachers. At this school there is good diversity but many of the kids here lack morals. I think for elementary your kid for the most part will be fine here but if your think about putting them in the middle school maybe rethink it. The overall atmosphere was discouraging, if you care about your children's well being and education run.

This school needs to come up with a better pick up and drop off. It hinders the residence who residence at the apartment complex across the street. And backing up traffic on Evans and Grape. Absolutely ridiculous!!! This school has so many doors for the students to wait by the doors. Just like any other DPS this charter school should not be exempted from following the same protocol as schools. I also heard you have to have a pass to walk your children to school. That's insane so basically you don't want to encourage healthy excise. Some of the staff is extremely rude as well so does the outdoor traffic control. Instead of making this school bigger they need to make a bigger parking lot. I have so many complaints about this school it's not even funny.

Highline academy would be a good school academic if they weren’t racists and sexists they only thing that is good is the 8th math teacher that helps you get into high school and many of the teachers have been fired form teaching it’s like the don’t even read the policy’s

It is not right for the teachers to share their political views. This is a public school! I also don't appreciate the foul mouth bullying girls that go there! They should be reprimanded once and expelled the second time!

This review may be biased, but I've been here since 7th grade and recently finished 8th grade, This school is great. Before coming here I used to go to a bad school and I hate it A LOT, I switched to this school and it was better than my previous middle school. I was always ready to go to school just to see my friends. I mostly finished the work the teachers assigned us and they did teach us very well (if you are paying attention). There are probably 2 teachers I didn't really like, Some of the students from every grade are crazy and the school's lunches are horrible.

Whenever I remember this place or just see this place, I get emotional and remember memories that attach me to this school. I liked this place

my little brothers have been attending this school for 1 1/2 years and they both hate it. the bullying and racism is extremely prominent, and the teachers and principals don’t care. my brothers are non-white and they get bullied for it constantly. just the other day, one of them got beat up and nobody has done anything yet. the teachers have heard, seen, and been told about this happening and not a thing has been done in their entire time attending this school.

for all of these negatives, i will say that the office staff is very helpful and kind!

I been at this school since kinder and i’ve hated it since, my friends are getting harassed by the boy and we tell the teachers and principals and they don’t care or do anything about it. Our home room teacher literally just put the boy in a dif class bc he was in the same class as me and my friend and that didn’t change anything. The boy literally TOUCHED my friends LEG and still the teachers don’t do anything about it. Overall the principals and teacher don’t do anything about a problem.
