I am writing this review to ensure the public are aware that this business is willing to commit fraud for CPS and will go as far as to lie for CPS is need be. I am aware of this due to personal experience. Here is my story:

(I have attached photos, that I will be referencing throughout my review.)

In 2018/2019 my husband and I first started seeing this office paid for by CPS in a voluntary case. Helping hands gives a test to parents to see where they fit on their parenting scale. You will see that my “scores” were average to mid high on my “testing” scores.

Then in 2021 at the beginning and end of the year I took this test (twice). You will see my scores attached. Again showing I am in the high average and above average ranges in parenting.

Right after I took the test in December 2021 I asked the parenting coach for a copy, in which she came back with my results after putting it all in and told me I could keep the one she gave me.

I came back a week later and she gave me a new test result showing I was below average range . I asked her what is this, and she responded she scored my test and this is what my results were. I reminded her she had scored my test while I was in session last week and she gave me the results and the results she gave me today were vastly different than the ones I have recieved in the past (as in the scores I had the past 3x I took the test showing I’m average and above average in all constructs.) of course during this time CPS was waiting for service providers feedback to report to the court in which helping hands chose the “fabricated and false” document of my “testing” to present to the courts in this situation. While all visitations showed the opposite of what was reported, there was no negative feedback on my parenting or implementation and yet their own report in 2022 contradicted itself, as did the visitations show a vastly different story than the one Cindy and Shona were trying to prove…. For CPS….

Now I argued this, and told them to retest me, which they did and suddenly my scores were back to “normal” ranges again. But they would not give me a copy despite me asking for it, and they never cleared up their mistake with the courts and cps either. I believe it all to be intentional and deliberate.

On top of this they favored my abusive ex (my daughter’s father). They were kind to him and even during co parenting sessions they took his side over mine, and it felt as though they were victimizing me all over again. It was physically exhausting, mentally draining, and emotionally tolling on me having to experience their bias. They claim to be against DV & they teach how damaging it is to the children but yet here they are favoring and treating my abuser better than me in sessions, and believing him over me even though I’m the one who has proof of his abuse!

They also believed things that weren’t true about me and it is my belief that most of their clientele comes from CPS so of course there not gonna bite the hand that feeds them. It’s just bad that such a beautiful start to helping the community in this business has turned into corruption for the money that is given by the government. Grass Valley/ Nevada county DESPERATELY NEED, a parenting service like helping hands that won’t subject themselves to fraudulence, lying, and telling stories that are fabricated to the courts for CPS.

Furthermore according to this office I wasn’t allowed to review MY OWN FILE, as their “client” but CPS was able to and could give me that if I wanted. I had to get it from cps and not their office, which is absolutely absurd and a straight violation of my 4th and 14th amendment. The lengths this office goes to pursue what cps wants is cruel, corrupt, and overall distrustful and concerning.

I hope one day someone can rise above and do what’s right - and report FACTS - not opinions - but FACTS about families who are suffering family separation. Thanks to the help of this business aiding CPS lies and corruption, it’s been 2.5 years since I’ve been able to hold my baby girl & be her mother.

I have been coming here for about 5 months to see my daughter every week. The staff has been super friendly. From the beginning Shawna was so friendly and always checks in on our visit and makes cute comments about my daughter. Nicky is the woman assigned to me during our visits, she is super friendly, very good with young kids, and assisting Single parents. I have been doing parenting classes with her, and she has rescheduled even on her day off to accommodate that I get my visit. There is another lady in the office who is real sweet and overheard me wanting to do some water activities with my daughter, and she pulled out a tub, and a stand about my daughter's size and lots of toys for her to play with. I'm am very happy with Helping Hands. I have used care crisis before and I can tell you Helping Hands has a more personal and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend

Helping Hands has been, truly, a life changing opportunity for me. The parent educators are extremely knowledgeable, trustworthy, patient, and caring, which opens the door for better communication and understanding. I have learned so much and my relationship with my daughter and my resources as a parent have grown. Any parent can benefit from the services offered at Helping Hands! So grateful!

Helping Hands Nurturing Center provided my family a safe and beautiful location to thrive and heal during a difficult time. The staff were always friendly and extremely professional. It is evident that every member of their team is passionate about the work they do and care deeply about the families they serve. During the 6 months of utilizing their services I always felt welcome and comfortable. I learned a lot about nurturing parenting and never felt judged. I have been to another facility offering supervised visitation in the Bay Area and there is no comparison. In fact, I chose to drive to Grass Valley from San Francisco because Helping Hands is that much better. I would highly recommend this place to any family.

I came here with a court order to take their coparenting class along with the other parent. While I'm sure this has potential to benefit parents who are willing to make changes for their child, unfortunately my coparenting situation is high conflict and this class did not benefit me or my family. The class is pass or fail and both parents were passed on the premise that what was taught would be implemented. The information provided in the class is available online and mostly common sense. Once you graduate from their class there is no follow up or accountability. Behavior that is detrimental to my son continued and when I brought this up to the owner and my counselor I was told that it was out of their hands and that I needed to go to the courts. While advocating for my son's needs and reporting a breach of court ordered conduct from the other parent, I was made to feel my concerns were overdramatic. I was also charged more money for this follow up appointment. I recommend saving the hundreds of dollars this class costs and putting it towards lawyers and/or court filings. Based on my experience, the help they claim to provide here is superficial at best.

In my opinion, potentially dangerous for indigenous or neurodivergent individuals.... their team did not have experience understanding cultural perspectives on parenting that differ from their own, labeling myself as "uncooperative", rather than taking their time to consider my perspective or educate themselves. Dismissive, defensive, judgmental, manipulative and finally aggressive when disagreed with or criticized, asking me "why won't you do this for your daughter?" An example , their response to another individual in these reviews by the owner, when they had a similar experience to my own, " 36 plus years the program works for those who are "ready". Proof is in our numbers." This was parallel to my experience, attempting to use statistical fallacy and their power as professionals to bully me into compliance, rather than hear feedback that does not fit their singular occidental Judeo/Christian cultural understanding of parenting, let alone any accountability or self reflection on their part. As if anyone who disagrees with them and their program are simply "not ready". Luckily the judge was able to see the whole picture after a lengthy trial and much unnecessary stress for myself and family.

Helping hands does not respect the wishes of the children that come to them. There was a little girl who had come to visit them, she repeatedly told them that she did not want to leave alone with her father. They tried to walk her down the street with him, but as soon as they tried to leave she began to scream and then ran back to the center. At this point it took police intervention to keep this little girl from leaving with her father alone. I would post the audio file or a link to it but google reviews will not allow it.
