Rick is a patient and knowledgeable instructor. Taking this class was great exposure for someone getting the basics of carrying in Colorado. If you do not have your own equipment he provides everything you need with his training. You receive a packet to take home and he allows you to connect with him to stay current on all information. He offers many services including shopping and practice time. I was very comfortable with the environment and information shared. I have very little experience with guns and went to Rick for one-on-one training on 2.17.25. I had a bad experience with a previous trainer and was worried this would be the same, but Rick was incredible. Not only is he an expert in his field, he is also genuinely kind, thoughtful, patient, and wise. I learned so much about guns, gun safety, and laws in just 4 hours to where I felt comfortable going to the range under his supervision. I was awe-struck by the experience and I highly recommend working with him. Rick is the real deal.

Rick is verry knowledgeable and thorough. his instruction is not boring at all, he keeps you engaged and did not belittle me for my lack of knowledge, instead he is willing to teach and is verry good at it. I have always known gun safety is important and in the first three minutes I was made aware of a verry key component of safety that otherwise I would have overlooked. because of the verry valuable time I spent with Rick I am now a safer more responsible gun owner. I will recommend this class to my friends, family and anyone willing to learn from the best!

Straight shooter. I appreciate his teaching style and real-world perspective. He prepared us for real life situations and made sure we did in fact understand the severity of being a gun owner. Having the opportunity to handle a real weapon safely was my favorite part of the class. I wanted to be comfortable picking up a gun…I left the class achieving that and more. Highly recommend.

Rick did a great job training me and delivered the information in easy to understand terms for a beginner. Very patient and personable. Easy to schedule and good communication throughout the process. I trust his expert advice and will return again in the future for additional training. Highly recommend his classes. Also, he was able to use his jewelry making talents in addition to providing the training, and repair a turquoise necklace to perfection. And, at no charge. Simply amazing!!

Rick is a phenomenal instructor. Knowledgeable and engaging with his students, Rick has set up a curriculum that keeps the energy level up while still getting the information across in a manner that is easy to understand and assimilate. He makes sure that his students understand the material in a given subject prior to moving on to the next section. Within his class is also an opportunity to actually be "hands-on" with different firearms so as to see the differences in handling. Granted there are commonalities to handguns, but Rick makes sure to give as much attention to their differences as he does their similarities so as to make sure that the student feels comfortable with handling a firearm. Abundantly knowledgeable, good natured and engaging, I would unequivocally recommend Rick for your higher learning considerations with firearms.
