Excellent Daycare for my daughters!!! They have made great friends!!! I wish they can stay open longer though. Other than that, this is a great daycare for my children. Can’t wait for my other children to attend this daycare when the spots open up. 🥰🥰🥰

I would have loved for your facility to have provided the care you stated you could for my son. It’s heartbreaking you are the only special needs center here in Bettendorf. If my son had a one on one aide like he was supposed to, he wouldn’t have been able to elope and get as far away from your facility as he did, behind your building and across a road to someone else’s yard. Your explanation of elopement being a common occurrence at your facility, AFTER the fact, and not having to file any sort of incident report was so wrong. I am extremely concerned for any other children in your care with language and or elopement issues.

I have always found Hand in Hand to be very deliberate in their care and in the planning of activities for my child. The facility is bright and fun. They are very accepting of every ability and work with the strengths that individuals have. Children are not defined by what they cannot do - rather they are given opportunities to try new things and to gain new skills. This facility caters to children of all levels and abilities safely.

i used to go here with my brother during the summer, i was around 10 and he was 9. he has autism and since my mom didn’t want to pay for another day care or baby sitter i just went along with him. the people who worked there were all young girls, early 20’s who i would constantly see on their phones not paying attention. i didn’t mind because my only concern was my brother. he made a lot of friends who were older than him and also had autism, and i gradually became their friends as well. one day we were playing outside and one of the boys was getting super handy and touchy with me. i was young and was a people pleaser so instead of saying “no” i just kind of nervously laughed and tried to get away. it ended up with him sitting on top of me. this kid was about 4x my size. i was trying to get out from under him but couldn’t. i kept on telling him to get off and he just said “nope, not until you give me a kiss”. i looked over for one of the employees and found one sitting on a bench on her phone, she looked at me then just proceeded on her phone like nothing was happening. i called over to her multiple times and she didn’t do anything, and neither did the other girls who were around. this continued until my brother came back from the bathroom and told him to get off of me. he did but then he got mad and tried attacking my brother. my brother was smaller than i was and my brother backed away while the bigger kid tried to attack him, finally the girls came and tried to get him to back off just by blocking him with their arms while i stood directly in front of my brother. eventually we ran off and later we went back and we were sent home. i’ve had multiple experiences like this and every time they would explain the situation to my mom, they would downplay it extremely and made us seem like we were over reacting. almost all the memories i have from that place involve neglect and just unpleasantness. i am now 17 and hope things have changed there, but i just wanted to share.
