They were really helpful and encouraging when I was inquiring about the program until I mentioned that my child is autistic, and then they told me that they don't allow children with special needs to enroll (this includes children with 504s)

Charter schools are public schools and their refusal to follow the law in regards to the Americans with Disability Act and FAPE guidelines really turned my stomach. It seems that they only want a certain type of student (high test scores) so that they don't have to spend any time working with students who struggle.

Greatest School in CA. This school has really geared me towards college level work and its work pace. As a senior, high school can be pretty intimidating. Not here at hallmark. Everybody is family. The teachers are very helpful, kind, and patient. If you need extra credit, just ask them. The Music and Art classes are extraordinary as well! Robert Nidy is very helpful and patient. He will even help you on your art pieces. My teacher Mrs. Ballew will have you writing at a college level at high school. I highly recommend this charter school to anybody who is creative or just wanting to find a school that feels like home.

Wow, what a great school. I would give it 6 out of 5 stars if it was possible. I am still awed after 3 years by the wonderful and caring principal and teachers. They have excellent art and music classes. They keep being rated scolastically as one of the top schools in California But since this is "officially a home school" it might not be a perfect fit for some students, even though most students go to school every day.

I hated it. They except us to know everything before hand. They give students college level books and except them to understand it. And all the teachers here are very racist. They depend on looks and skin color more than grades. It's pretty sad. A white kid gets extra credit while the others do not. The only nice person has to be the Spanish teacher. Although all he does is talk about his past life, when he is supposed to be teaching, he knows how to interact with kids and is not racist most of the time. Anyway, I hope I NEVER have to go through that again.:(

This is One of the BEST schools around. The staff, the teachers, Mr Sanchez...well it just does not get any better. My daughter choose to go there her Sophomore year and went from a 2.8 GPA to a 4.0 GPA for the remainder of her High School career. You get private school help and education without the cost!

I did my four high school years at hallmark and it was by far the most amazing experience. I was accepted with a low gpa and graduated a 4.0.the teachers running the labs make sure you understand what is going on in your books. I am now thinking of placing my child under the care of a staff who actually cares.
