This is the worst LVN program in Sacramento. The problems started during the admissions process when Naomi Hough gave me the wrong information on what time the PM classes start. Telling me they start at 5:30p, instead of 5pm. I work 8-5, so working full time became virtually impossible. & when asking the school for a little help or leeway for the time, they stated they could not. Yet your instructors are showing up late to teach us everyday? So it’s okay that they have work and lives and can come to school 30-45 minutes after class starts, but the students can’t be 1 minute late. Problems continued to get worse through the program, as the school is extremely disorganized. I have had several different instructors through this course, because they can’t seem to keep staff. Everyone either quits within a few weeks or gets fired. They are more concerned about our uniforms than actually teaching us. I’ve had to do the same lesson over & over during clinical days because they have no actual instructions or teaching plan. Most of the time we sit for HOURS doing absolutely nothing just so they can keep us there for time. The new clinical director Mrs Ebony has no idea what she’s doing. The campus director Ms Gena could literally care less about the students. & other staff have told students about how faculty sits in meetings and says the most disgusting things about the students. The only person who might SLIGHTLY care about you is Ms. Tabitha. But that depends on what mood she’s in for the day. Anybody who will listen, has been told that they should not come to this school. You’re better off at another LVN program in Sacramento, as this school simply will not prepare you to become a nurse. Save your time, money and sanity.

If it were possible to give this school a zero I would. This school has allowed other students to bully my child. They simply sweep everything under the rug. When requested documentation for each time my child went to them with concerns they couldn't furnish any documentation. They have allowed their instructors to discriminate against my child's natural hair. When I filed a grievance the Director Gena Miller dragged her feet on responding. Her response was investigations take time. When requested for a time line she never responded back with a timeline. Students were made privy of private emails sent to their leadership team. When I called this out to Gena Miller no response from her. Students were also made privy to an instructor being terminated. This was an open discussion in the classroom setting. Instructors play favoritism towards certain students. Giving more grace on tardy towards certain students. To which this instructor was seen speaking privately to these same students that she allowed to arrive late on a daily basis. After this concern was brought forth to the Director Gena Miller. When I requested to have a face to face discussion with Gena Miller and stated where I wanted to sit inside my child's classroom. Gena Miller informed me that I couldn't. Meanwhile I wanted to sit inside the classroom to make sure that my child felt safe. As other students had made comments about finding out who the snitch was an dealing with them. When I received Gena Miller's investigation she denied every concerns brought forth to her. After my last email sent stating where any further updates I wanted it to come from her superior and not her. I received a threatening email form their legal counsel. Rather than do a thorough investigation and not deny truth they simply no longer want to deal with it and let their attorney deal with it. Don't waste your money on this school. They lie and will take your money.

I am a current student in my last 6 months of the general UT program. Prior to applying to this program, I had met with the hiring director of a sutter location who told me if I had on my resume that I graduated from gurnick, that would make me a desirable hire. I applied to this program 3 times before getting in, which shows how competitive this program is. But I am so thankful I kept applying because this program has been the best for my education and future career. This program is no joke. The program director and instructors devote their life to making sure you succeed. You will be given every resource and tool to excel in this program. Your success will depend on what you do with those resources and tools. This is an accredited program by CAAHEP and your program director will find clinical sites that are perfect for YOU. I’m so glad I got my education through this school and I recommend it to everyone!! Best of luck to you!!!

I am currently enrolled in the Ultrasound program, it is a lot of work but that was anticipated from the start. I can say with confidence that I feel this school will prepare me for the field and excel in being a future sonographer. Jorge (the director) is amazing he cares for his students and their education, the instructors are so great as well and ensure students get the information they need for success. I have two family members who have been through the program and graduated in the summer and they both can confidently say this program prepared them for the medical field and their profession.

I have had a great experience at Gurnick in the ultrasound program. I feel our instructors really want us to be the best we can be and are always willing to help. We have access to lots of lab time to learn and develop our skills. My time at various clinical sites has also been amazing and I feel so prepared to begin my career.

I am a current ultrasound student here and I couldn’t be happier with my decision to attend this program. The instructors are highly knowledgeable and extremely helpful to all students, always doing their best to set us up for success in the field. The about of lab time us students get is something I’m very grateful for especially since I’ve heard that many other ultrasound students in the area feel they do not receive adequate lab time during their programs. The program director, Jorge, is amazing and truly goes above and beyond for all of his students ensuring that we are all prepared for our future careers. I love this program and would recommend it for anyone seriously interested in a career in ultrasound.

My LOVE for the ultrasound program at Gurnick is way beyond. – from the teachers to the challenging curriculum. All the faculty members of sonography program integrates with compassion into their teaching standards, emphasizes the importance of values, and builds leaders through each of their classes and lessons.

Sonography program is not an easy program. You have to be passionate about working in this field with patient care and being proactive. It’s takes a lot of hard work and dedication and determination. The director and the professor’s made sure that each of us are successful in this program.

Though it is a private school, I had to work hard for this program and be successful And every member from financial aid to coordinators to front desk made sure that we all are given help and guidance when we need it.

Teachers are passionate about seeing their students succeed. They are so great about sharing moments of pride they see within us.

I love my ultrasound program at Gurnick. Let’s keep on scanning with love.

I'm a current ultrasound program student and I am so happy I made the choice to attend Gurnick. We get so much scan time and I felt confident when starting my clinical rotations. I feel like we are held to a high standard by our instructors and they work hard to give us all the opportunities and guidance we need to meet those standards and it shows by the great feedback and comments regarding my scanning and knowledge I get from the sonographers I have worked with on my clinical rotations. Jorge and Monica are absolutely amazing and make the best team for student success in education.
