My personal experience here was awful. My first week at Gurnick was just as unprofessional as the rest of the year. I had my advisor pull me from class and in the middle of the hallway as other students walk past announce that she was dropping me due to having a balance. (Gurnick staff loves to pull you from class time to discuss money, by the way.) | will say, The staff instructors are exceptional, except one who literally enjoyed picking on and bullying my cohort. (She was a replacement for weekends and worked at the school downstairs, and would love to mention her school was better). This is the Second instance of negativity I was met with was due to that fill in instructor. To continue this I let the staff know about it and I was ignored email after email until finally, my last day with said instructor they decided to move me to a different Saturday clinical. So, I did have to endure her emotional abuse on numerous occasions. Moving past this, let it be known I was an honor roll student had no less than Bs my entire time at this school and never missed a single day. I was proud of my accomplishments, excited to make my family proud at graduation. The day came and they "forgot" to include me in the awards and recognize that I was an honor roll student and had perfect attendance! I was so embarrassed and wanted to cry but I was right in front. The way they fixed that instance was saying "you can come get your rope and sash, from the school" they robbed me of my moment completely and all I got from this was throwing my accomplishments in a bag and making me pick it up from the school. That's not it though. During NCLEX prep, we were told if we attend everyday of PASS and pass our NCLEX first try they will reimburse us for paying for our license. I did PASS participated and as soon as I confirmed I passed the NCLEX I received no more
correspondence. Wait... there's more. The school from day one says they will assist with finding a job once graduated. Not only was I prompt with my replies I would have to send follow up emails. I understand people are busy, but if I do everything you have asked and I paid ALL that money that they HOUND you for) I could at least get a return email. I was not going to write this review because The program director is amazing and so are most of the instructors. However, I am fed up because today I send an email to career services and instead of doing her research she sends me the same set of questions that was already answered in the correspondence literally attached to the email thread almost a month ago and her suggestions for places to apply to are not even hiring LVNs which is what l graduated for. This was NOT a good experience! I did pass my exit and NCLEX first try but I definitely do not give them credit for that, I worked hard and I had the critical thinking and necessary skills to accomplish what l have.

So far my application experience has not been good. It has very hard to get in touch with anyone.
I have emailed, called and barely get a response back, I saw the reviews before I started the application process but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. But best believe the reviews. They do not make you feel welcomed or even feel like they want to help at all.

I just graduated from their LVN program and honestly I could not be happier. I have had a great experience at this school. Mrs Jen the Nclex director is a wonderful teacher and she was such a great help and understanding person for me. The student services are excellent, and I highly recommend this school to anyone seeking a supportive and enriching educational environment.

Meh.. I had Jackie as an advisor but really Denise , neither really answered questions for the program I was interested. If they did, well I should say if Denise did she was vague in responses and when I asked to speak to Jackie I was met with “ she’s really busy” which leaves a bad taste in my mouth because when you sign up for something you want to feel welcomed and inviting with all questions answered and I definitely did NOT feel that here. Not to mention the 40 hrs of shadowing a radiation therapist before you’d need to complete and have 4 letters of recommendation BEFORE class but I still have yet to have answers on where to get those if never been previously enrolled AND being a stay at home parent with no work history to have someone recommend .

I started their Medical assistant program in March this year and honestly I could not be happier. I have had a great experience at this school. Miss Hughes the MA director is such a great help! She really goes out her way to make sure all her students understand what they are learning and helps you as much as she can so that none of the students get left behind. Dr Daniel one of the instructors also is super helpful and patient as well. She always will stay after class to help any students that need help so that everyone is on the same page. The program has many different courses and learning tools to ensure your success when you take your state exam to get licensed and pass. I highly recommend this school for their medical assistant program. I can't speak for the other programs because I don't know those directors or teachers but I am honestly considering my BSN program here as well.

This is the worst school I know of. We were in the last semester and we asked them to do our exam before our graduation. But none of them gave us an answer. They always do their own thing. They don't pay attention to the students. I don't recommend this school to you. This is the worst school in concord . They don't understand the problems of their students.

I attend Concord campus and they have decided, at the end of our program, to change to graduation we are having. The previous classes have had a graduation with the program they are a part of. We have been told they are going to make us wait for months and graduate with the entire college. We worked hard to become nurses and to have to sacrifice all we have worked for to have a mediocre impersonal graduation that we are paying for as part of our tuition is unethical.

We have sent numerous e-mails in the past 3 weeks (6/21/22) to Jason Frank and Joe K. with no response. They will not acknowledge us, not even in the hallways.

We are done in 3 months. To not know what is going on with a celebration we worked so hard to achieve is very unsettling and I do not feel valued as a student here. We are being bullied into something we don't want.

Gurnick Academy has to be the worst school in the Bay Area. They introduced a new testing system late into the program for module 4 students such as myself; I have mostly Bs and one A throughout the first three mods. The lecture does not match the quizzes . Some of the teachers can't teach and are only for a check. They do not prepare you for the ATI exam exit at all. I am a current student and having trouble with ATI proctored exams. They come in during exams and ask for payments instead of waiting 1 hour for the student to finish the exam. This school only care about money. Who brings in ATI instructors after somebody has taken the ATI exam for the first time? This school is TRASH !!!!!! - Cameron W
