We hike and fish here all the time. Gold medal water through both the gorge and the Black Canyon of the Gunnison which is just southeast of the gorge. Some good dispersed camping and a camp ground out at the end. Jeep, motorcycle, horse, and mountain bike trials criss cross the place making access easy.

Loved our time here! We did a single day whitewater kayaking trip down the river and the ranger Rooster was very helpful in getting us information to make it shuttle work and was very friendly. Thank you!

Duncan trail, pretty sweet. Sketchy in the last 1/2 mile or so. I have a big crazy dog and had to assist him a few times, not to mention the skree slides; use caution if bringing your best friend. Bout 30 minutes down, an hr+ to get out with breaks.
