GMNC maintains over 50k of trails on the Grand Mesa. Regular grooming in the winter and trail repairs and maintenance in the summer keep these trails in great shape. They cover Skyway, County Line, and Ward Lake for skiers at all levels. Dogs are welcome at County Line. There is a warming hit at Skyway. This is a volunteer organization that works closely with the Forest Service.

Not sure what to put, so it's the average of two ratings.
5 stars: A nostalgia filled return to GMNC's roots when I was a kid, and the grooming was done by volunteers on snowmobiles.
1 star: A visiting Norwegian relative said, "The kindergarten I work at has better grooming."

3 or 4 years ago, the grooming was great.
Today, the grooming is hit or miss, mostly miss. The best skiing days today were average days 3 or 4 years ago. The bad days today are a tour in the powder. If you actually want to kick and GLIDE or skate, it's a 50/50 guess if it's doable with the present grooming.

There are no better XC ski areas than the areas groomed and maintained by the Grand Mesa Nordic Council in Western Colorado. To be able to keep enjoying these areas we must support GMNC. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to enjoy our beautiful GM while we get the best exercise.

Amazing bunch of volunteers keep the cross country skiing trail system on Grand Mesa groomed and open. We have been members for many years and encourage other skiers to join.

I joined the Women's Wednesday ski clinic and learned more in an hour than I have ever known about cross country skiing. Wonderful instructor and great group of gals!
