GVA-DC is a tuition free charter (public) school and has been a wonderful experience for our two daughters (4th and 1st grade) who are in the Spanish village. We live in the Littleton Public School district and drive 30 minutes each way to give our daughters the opportunity to attend this incredible school and learn Spanish as a second language (French and Mandarin are also taught at GVA-DC). The 50/50 immersion program has been absolutely fantastic; my oldest daughter is now nearly bilingual AND biliterate, which is incredible since we do not speak Spanish at home. The immersion teachers are required to be native speakers, so my daughters have had teachers from Peru, Bolivia, Columbia, and Mexico. We value the diversity of the students and staff at this school, the smaller class sizes, and the true community that is felt here. Ms. Bush is a caring and effective principal, and the staff is incredible. There are also International Days every 6 weeks, so the students study and learn about a new country and culture every other month. There is a great specials program with art, STEM, and PE, as well as a fantastic GT program. The school tested above the state average for CMAS, so great from that perspective, as well. We highly recommend this school!!!

Hands down the best immersion program in the area. We are currently in year 3 with our daughter. To say I am a fan would be an understatement. It is such a unique school that does not get the love that it deserves. It is the only 50/50 immersion charter school to my knowledge. My daughter speaks and writes Spanish like a 6-7 year old who uses Spanish as their first language. Compared to her friends who have an hour of foreign language at their schools each day, she is way ahead. Her accent is phenomenal. Her teachers care about her. The community is fantastic and the parent involvement committee gets a ton done! I would highly recommend.

Great teachers! Great school community of parents, staff, and students! And a great opportunity to learn about diversity and different cultures. We found them through an online search for a French language school. They spend a great amount of time teaching respect, service, and working hard (and I might add, leading by example). I've never seen so many students so willing to serve! We LOVE the GVA in Parker! It is such a wonderful environment for my children and I look forward to watching them grow up here!

2 of our kids have just completed their first year at Global Village Academy in the Mandarin Chinese language immersion program. They were in kindergarten and first grade. Both kids will be returning along with their younger brother next year.

This was the first year the school was open in a new building. Were there growing pains? Yes of course. Were all parents happy with the school? No of course not. Did the school staff work hard to address the issues of getting a new school up and running to the extent possible? Yes they did. Will the school continue to grow and develop? I believe it will, that is why I am sending all 3 of our kids here. Also there are very few schools in the Denver area that offer language immersion. 50% of my kids day is taught in Chinese. My kids loved their Chinese teachers. It is great to hear the kids talk and sign songs in Chinese on the way to and from school. I drive about 45 minutes each way to bring them to this school. Many studies have shown numerous benefits from learning a second language at an early age, that will last a lifetime.

Learning a second language through immersion at a young age is the easiest way to acquire fluency (read, write and speak) in a second language. I wish all the public schools offered full immersion programs. The Global Village Academy schools is one of the best programs. The school also offers Spanish and French immersion programs in addition to Chinese.

We were drawn to this school for the Spanish immersion and cultural diversity; however, we had a bad experience and ended up transferring our son in April. I personally know of at least 4 other families that have left this school this year. We were unhappy with the poor leadership, zero communication, lack of staffing, and the unsafe and unstimulating learning environment for the kids. Since we have switched our son he is thriving at his new school and so happy to share about his day. Such a change! He used to tell me he did iPad time all day at GVA and wasn’t learning anything new.

If you're looking to enrich your child's life through language, you have found the right place! We have been with Global Village Academy in Parker since the school opened fall of 2015. We started with a second grader in the Spanish village who knew very little Spanish to begin with. In just 2 1/2 short years she is speaking, understanding, reading, and writing proficiently in Spanish. She can have full conversations with other Spanish speakers and continues every day to grow in the language. Her English and math skills have also grown to new heights because of how incredible our teachers are. My other daughter started here as a kinder in French. This is year 2 for her and she has grown more here than I believe she would have at a traditional school. She loves how fun school is! Because many students come in speaking little to none of the language, our immersion teachers have to be very animated and excited! So not only are the students learning like crazy, they are actually enjoying and having fun in class! We chose GVA because not only do we want our girls fluent in a language by 8th grade, language has been proven to strengthen a child's brain. They are able to problem solve better, advance quicker in school, and have a better understanding of the world they live in! We absolutely love GVADC!!!!

I truly love language immersion school plus this school is tuition free and in Parker! I have my first grader here and she started last year as a kindergartner and is learning a lot! She is in the Spanish Village and we love both her English and Spanish teachers. The principle is great too! I like smaller schools better but the reason for the 4 star is that they don’t have a cafeteria this year, I feel like teachers should get a break if kids are in lunch but if weather is bad they have to eat in their own classroom cause the “cafeteria”space is being used for upper grade classes. I know this school has land, but getting all the paperwork stuff to start building may be the issue! We are all supporting this school and hoping for the best outcome.
