Good value.. very undulating fairways as characteristic for the area. Long par 4s from the white tees. Good challenge and fun layout. Worth playing in the area.

Course was in pretty good shape, however, my 3 buddies and I choose a weekend every year (for 15 years now) and play a tournament to crown the years best. The tournament consists of 36 holes to crown champion however we continue play after regulation as a fun celebratory time to enjoy the camaraderie and libations after a serious round. After our 36 holes (on a Saturday mind you) we go into the pro shop to pay whatever we need to continue play until sunset, however the they would not let us out past 5pm. We were nonetheless disappointed because we had planned to have a golf weekend and a GOLF DESTINATION but we’re turned away. Mind you you none of us had been drinking at all given it’s an even we all take very seriously. So inevitably we accepted the outcome and got dinner at the clubhouse and continued to sporadically see other groups trickle in through sunset. So if you plan to take a golf trip with your buddies, and truly want to make it about golf, be prepared to cut your fun early.

Galena Golf Club is a fantastic place for people just starting out and just challenging enough for people who have been golfing awhile! It has become one of my favorite places to go when I want to get a tee time in. Definitely recommend it!

Playing right now. Greens have a ton of old ball marks. We have a group of six and two groups of five in front of us. Clubhouse isn’t doing anything about it to speed up play. Horrible management.
