I recently moved to Illinois and knew I wanted to get back into Irish Dancing (which I haven’t done since I was 12 years old) once I got here. I found Gaelic Origins on Google and was so excited to see they were offering adult dance classes. I haven’t been able to go as frequently as I would like due to the holidays and illness, but every time I’m able to make it, I leave with a huge smile on my face! Mrs Fiona is so friendly, personable, funny, and welcoming. She paces teaching the sequences well and is very supportive as I learn, fumble, and succeed! I plan on continuing to be part of this wonderful dance school!

If you're looking for a very Irish setting with accurate and strong roots as well as a genuine love for their craft, this is the place for you! Whether you're a girl, boy, kid, or adult - they have a class for you! Miss Fiona seems like a great teacher that is unbelievably patient and a natural with children who is passionate about Irish Dance - exactly the kind of person you want as an instructor. And she makes it fun! Love all that green and gold!!

The environment is open, supportive, and professional; the studio is well designed, charming, and clean; Ms. Fiona is very accessible and great with new students; the costs for classes are reasonable; and scheduling is very flexible (you decide which day to attend each week).

There are options to do competitive dancing or participate in community events (parades, etc), but it's not required. Irish dancing doesn't have some of the issues other dance forms seem to come with (body image concerns, physically damaging, etc). If your child is interested in dance, give this a shot!

Mrs. Fiona has been an excellent teacher of mine for years, and has helped me excel in my dancing career. She makes every class new and exciting and instructs people of all ages. I especially love the adult class she offers weekly. This class is easily adaptable and wonderful for those who are looking for new activities. We learn new dances and routines often and it’s a very entertaining/engaging way to exercise.

Decided to try this studio as a group for for my sisters birthday, and we had such a fun time. Fiona was amazing at directing us newbies and we had a blast - could not stop laughing. You don’t have to know anything about Irish dancing to have a good time! Highly recommend if you’re ever looking for something new to try, especially with a group of friends!
