I want to call out a significant human resources issue with the City of Ft Collins. While as a employee and now having moved on to a private sector job, Human Resources is a services non-entity. It is nearly impossible to get a hold of anyone beyond the lone secretary in a completely empty office space. Every request for support or correspondence must be trusted to a gatekeeper without any expectation of responsiveness. An entire department is physically absent from a large office space because of the "pandemic" 4 years ago. This is the excuse given when asking for someone to sit face to face with. As a result, employees and ex are left to fend to themselves. My experience with the City of Ft Collins HR department has me questioning how this is a defensible approach to serving tax paying residents, employees and ex employees.
