Review of the welding program only:

Man they’re currently going through teachers like crazy, which makes it hard for current students to feel secure in their educations. Depending on the teacher you have, your experience will be extremely different. Some teachers are super lax while others are very strict, really no middle ground there. Metal is extremely scarce. It’s understandable that metal is expensive, but we do pay $17,000 to attend. I truly wonder where that money goes if we are told daily to use less material. (metal/rods) extremely inconsistent/lax with rules. Just such an unprofessional environment for anyone looking to take welding seriously. The welding lab is filthy, i doubt it’s been cleaned since the school opened. Garbage cans full and overflowing. Scrap bins full of metal that can no longer be welded on. Broken machines. Must I go on? Some teachers leave for the day before students… so if you want to stay until the scheduled time (4), you will have no instruction after 3-3:30, as that is when teachers leave. The favoritism is still present as well.

My boyfriend is currently enrolled in the welding night program. Let me just say, if it wasn't for Peggy in admissions (she is the sweetest, nicest lady), there's absolutely NO WAY I would've let him enroll here without prior knowledge of how bad this program really is. The instructors and students are a joke - no one shows up. My boyfriend is the ONLY one there every day. And if they do show up, they stay for an hour and then leave, or stay out in the parking lot to hang with their buddies like its high school. No repercussions whatsoever. In their handbook they make it seem like they're strict on attendance and the hours needed to complete the program, but that's a joke. Meanwhile, you have students paying out of pocket to be there, even after working a full time job during the day, and no one takes it seriously - not the instructors or students. The time and energy invested in the welding day program/classes is NOWHERE near the same as the time and energy invested into the welding night program/classes. Not to mention, they don't even have scrap metal.. what is there to actually work on or do then The only people that were and are still helpful is Dan, the level 1 instructor and Josh, the level 3 instructor. My boyfriend has 3 months left in level 4 TIG and he/we cannot WAIT for this entire experience to be over. I'm sure their HVAC program is far better, but their welding program, specifically NIGHT, needs MAJOR WORK and NEW INSTRUCTORS. ETI is not what it claims to be at all. I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone, ever.

Welding department is awesome so far. I just finished the first of four modules which included oxyfuel, plasma, and carbon arc cutting. The Instructors are knowledgeable but you need to become a self-starter. Nobody holds your hand here.

***Update it's been a year now. I graduated because the instructors were ultra accommodating for my lazy days but this is not a school. It's a TRAINING FACILITY so if your work ethic is sh×t, fix it or stay home. You need to be a self starter. Keep a good attitude and do your work. I am taking my Tig certification next month even though I already got an offer for an out of state welding job!

I currently attend night classes at ETI, and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I love the school and its faculty; they are all really kind and friendly, making learning enjoyable. They also all have excellent educations and truly embody what it means to work in the HVAC industry.

Bad place.. I think Josh is unqualified for teaching.. Maybe he could try another vocation... I was just informed waste management is hiring.

I’m currently a student at ETI and I can confidently say. I’m impressed with the faculty the equipment and the process of learning. I’ve had a great time here in my three modules soon to be fourth. I can’t wait to be a technician and put my education to use in the field.

Currently a ETI student. Dont wasted your money coming here for hvac , all they care about it money. The level one teacher Virgil wasn't even there half the time and talked about smoking weed half the time , very unprofessional. Level two teacher Paul was knowledgeable but would get angry and upset if you asked to many questions and would swear at the students including myself. And now my level 3 teacher Rossi who was the best teacher at of all of them so far and actually cared about his students and learning was fired for missing a meeting awhile he was teaching us how to size furnaces and the whole class was sent home and wasted the rest of our day. This place is a joke they don’t care about your education.
