What to Consider When Researching

\n\n

For individuals exploring post-acute rehabilitation options, understanding the specific needs of the patient is the first step. Factors such as the level of care required (intermediate care, skilled nursing, palliative care), specific medical conditions, and rehabilitation goals should guide the selection process. Visiting the facility, speaking with staff and other residents, and reviewing the nursing home's regulatory compliance records are recommended steps.

\n\n

Evaluating the staffing ratios, staff qualifications, and the availability of specialized therapies (physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy) is crucial. Prospective patients and families should inquire about the success rates of rehabilitation outcomes, the philosophy of care, and the involvement of family members in the care planning process.

\n\n

Financial considerations, including coverage by Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and the costs associated with skilled nursing care, warrant thorough investigation. Understanding the admission criteria, the availability of tours, and the resident rights within California nursing homes is also essential information for families navigating the transition to a post-acute rehabilitation setting.

\n\n

While Escondido Post Acute Rehab's online reviews and accessibility features provide a foundation for understanding the facility, comprehensive research involving direct engagement with the facility and potentially other sources (such as state survey results) offers a more complete picture for informed decision-making.

My dad was temporarily placed here for rehabilitation. This is not your typical skilled nursing facility. As soon as we walked in the door it smelled really good and My mother and I were greeted by the most kind, loving, and considerate staff. My dad's care was nothing short of amazing. All his caregivers were the most tentative, caring and compassionate people we have ever met. One caregiver in particular was named Windy and she treated my dad like as if he was her father. She called him papa and tended to all of his daily needs. The x-ray tech Tony was awesome as well as the physical therapists. My dad said the food wasn't bad and the dietician's came in from day to day to check on his food quality and adequacy. The rooms need some upgrades and cosmetic fixes but as far as the care it's nothing short of the best. My dad has also made some lasting friendships and has left there with a sense of knowing if has to receive placement in the future he'd like to come back to a place where they made him feel at home. A many thanks to Cindy at the front desk for being so amazing as well as Bobbette the social worker for being so professional and compassionate to my dad's needs.

I have been working at Escondido post Acute going on 9 years this September. I can honestly say that I love working here!! Over the years i have met some of the most amazing coworkers, they have made coming to work so easy and fun every day. We have the best caring team and I believe we have the potential to be the best SNF in North County. My Coworkers and I have poured so much care and love into this place. We are not perfect in any way but we have made so many improvements over the years and I am so happy to be here and be able to witness such an amazing facility become even better and better every day!

Boosting the score by having employees write reviews is unethical. My step-dad was here for a few weeks in February post release from Palomar. The place is old run down and the food is horrid. The staff was okay, and obviously overworked. Getting a return call or having questions answered was challenging to say the least. They released him saying he was okay to go though he wasn't strong enough. One staff member agreed with me when I said he won't be able to be left alone. Another mentioned not having any open beds and they were at full capacity when we were checking out. Hmm. He fell within 24 hours cracked his head open, and spent another 5 days in the hospital. Thank goodness we were able to get him to a place in Poway which was Amazing! We were advised to write a letter per their social worker to the state. In her opinion it was blatant neglect by Post Acute. I wouldn't recommend this place to ANYONE.

I have been an employee of this facility for over 6 months now. I look forward to coming to work due to the wonderful atmosphere. From the administrator, to the CNAs, you can tell everyone loves to work
here. The staff is warm and welcoming and all try their best to help the patients who live here or who are here for a short term stay. The rehab department is fun and vibrant too!

If you have a loved one who needs short term care, this is the place to go. From the nurses to the maintenance staff, you will know your loved one is getting the best care.

I’ve a new hire, here for 6 weeks. I’ve never felt so welcome by an amazing group of employees! There is great camaraderie, everyone pulls together for the health of the patient. I feel like every person counts here, I’m so happy to be a part of this team. It’s important because families visit their loved ones and we all have a job to do, for them. If you are looking for employment in the health care industry or are looking for a post rehab come check us out!

I have been working in this facility for about two years, during this time from all of my previous jobs experience I considered EPA a great place to work. EPA gave me the opportunity as a brand new CNA with zero experience. EPA hired me despite my physical limitations and has always accommodated me to ensure my safety. I appreciate a lot their flexibility with my schedule allowing me to prioritize my health and also my very supportive colleagues. In the past they had addressed issues or concerns I had and I always feel I can freely share any concerns.
