My experience has been that HDC is secretive, and doesn't allow parents/ guardians in to the classrooms to observe their programs. My experience working with people with DD and ID over the last 25+ years, is that rules designed to keep eyes off the program are not there to protect the participants. My loved one recently lost his long term ( excellent) classroom teacher, and nobody had the professionalism to share that information with me.
It is definitely not an issue of other participants privacy, or HIPAA guidelines.
The management staff have been rude, and bullying.
