This is a hidden gem!! We were doing snow sports and got beat by the snow. We went to Mountain Elk Resort for a bite to eat and warm up and our experience Incredible. Grace (the restaurant manager) took amazing care of us and told us about the amazing history of the resort. Overall, 10 out of 10 I would recommend to at least stop for lunch to anyone in the area!

We did not have the best experience. It was New Years Eve, it was difficult finding it in the dark. More posted signs would help. Once we got there service was slow. I believe they were understaffed for such a busy night. They were out of a lot of choices that were on the menu. It was an hour and and half before we got our food and it was cold. The wait staff were friendly and were doing the best they could. They did comp us our dinner which we didn’t ask for, so I believe they were trying. I would not let this one experience stop us from giving them another try.

I LOVE this resort! I go out of my way to make time to visit every time I venture to that part of Colorado. The photo opps are spectacular and the vibe of the whole place is great. Highly recommended for your wedding!

Very nice place to go for a pleasant get away. Rooms were really nice and quiet. The staff was amazing. The food is worth the drive even if you don’t stay. The Sunday brunch was amazing and sitting on the patio watching the wildlife and listing to the band. Was a great experience! But honestly, the staff was amazing and helpful. Highly recommend even if it’s for dinner for the weekend or just for the Sunday brunch I must go.

Just for drinks and dinner, not overnight. Great ambiance, food is good, staff is great. This would be a good choice for a wedding venue where you could host lots of groups in many lodges and cabins. Facilities include meeting rooms, a chapel, really nice lodge and luxury cabins (we could not comment on the interiors, but the exteriors are delux). Remote but not too remote, 30 minutes to town.

Tucked into the Uncompahgre National Forest this resort set the bar really high. We had the pleasure of being the only guests on property for a few nights – due to the off season – and what an experience. 125 acres of privacy. The night sky has zero light pollution and the resort is amazing. The property is beautiful with plenty of deer to see and the 3 bedroom cabin’s offer the best in linens for that cooler than normal fall night. The staff is welcoming and always there to help. If you get the chance don’t hesitate to make the drive out to Elk Mountain. ngs like this don't last forever

The brunch was delicious. My only complaint is they listed Mimosas on their website along with menu items for brunch and then found out it was not included and charged $10 for a small mimosa. The Lodge is a nice facility and everyone was kind. . They had music in the lobby and the buffet had a nice selection.

I brought our family to Elk Mountain for mother's day brunch and experienced the rudest staff member any of us have ever encountered! This young lady's behavior was shocking and quite disgusting! From what we were told, this little pink haired monster is usually kept away from the customers in the kitchen, but because of the overwhelming amount of customers and lack of staff they regrettably turned her loose. I don't think anyone could have predicted the level of viciousness that this little girl would unleash on the lodges customers. Thankfully another staff member was quick to muzzle the monster and became our protector for the rest of our brunch. Grace was our savior! What started out as one of the most appalling dining experiences any of us have ever had, was salvaged by Grace. She was incredibly professional, and took amazing care of us for the rest of our brunch. Elk Mountain is one of our favorite places to eat and the horrible little pink haired monster will not stop us from coming back. I may bring a can of bear spray next time.
