This place is good. It does have some quarks....The Middle section of seats just feels too large and if you are in the middle I feel like you have to walk in front of way too many people to get out....one more aisle down the middle would have made a difference. The lobby feels too small also and the concession lines back up a little long and make navigating to the auditorium a little hectic. The shows that they have are always pretty good just pick seats better! (that's on me 😉 )

I recommend purchasing tickets before any shows. You will have assigned seats after ticket purchase. Wheelchair assessable and staff very helpful. if taking young children to a show may want to bring along headphone’s (just a suggestion) my 1 year old grandson did not like how loud it was. He did fall asleep for a bit. We went to see puppy pals for kids. We did not buy any food and do not know anything about what is avalble. We ate a meal at near by resturant before the show.

We were there to see the NEWSBOYS, an absolutely great concert in a performance art center which had very good acoustics. Easy to get to, off of interstate 70. We drove from St Louis.

Poorly designed with an awkward layout. This place holds over 1,500 people and there is one restroom each for men and women. The men’s restroom has only 3 urinals and 4 stalls! That’s it! The lines during intermission are outrageous. To top it off, you enter the auditorium from the right side so everyone in the center or left sections needs to cross over the crowd to access the lobby. I really don’t understand how a design flaw like this was overlooked. We’ve been to three shows here and I felt like the sound system fell short each time as well. Will think twice about returning especially if the artist we want to see is playing elsewhere.

Apparently Effingham Performance Center and TicketMaster are far more concerned about profit than they are about basic humanity. My wife and I purchased tickets for our daughter for Drumline Live. We were looking forward to the performance because I had been diagnosed with colon cancer, and we wanted to do something to take all of our minds off of it.

A little over a week before the performance date (Feb 6th), I was notified that a cancelation had opened up a surgery slot nearly two months sooner than expected (Feb 5th) with the best surgeon in the region. At first I encouraged my daughter to find some friends who would enjoy the performance. At around the same time my wife became extremely ill due to, what we later discovered) a 6mm kidney stone. The stone not only caused excruciating pain, but caused her to become septic.

My daughter decided that she wanted to be with her mom and dad, at the hospital, versus attending the event. My wife contacted Ticketmaster to inquire about a refund. She explained to them the serious nature of the unforeseen medical issues. Ticketmaster refused to work with her.

This has shown me, beyond any doubt, that Ticketmaster is a greedy, morally bankrupt company. It also demonstrates that the Effingham Performance Center is bereft of decency and family values.

The tickets were great, four of them that were premium Center, row A, seats 9-12. They could have easily resold them. Instead, they refuse to show any compassion because they don't value anything except profit.

To anyone who reads this, especially if you have experienced similar treatment, share it everywhere. Shame them. Expose them for what they really are.
