Earn to Learn has been lifechanging, I feel bad that I haven't left a review earlier especially with my record of leaving positive and negative reviews while the experience is fresh, but the effect they have had on my life still is evident. This place isn't a sham.
I signed up for the mailing list in my second to last semester at Pima in 2019, then when the applications dropped I did my Personal Finance Training right away and took notes. Everyone was friendly and the success coaches helped me understand terminology on what papers/documents I needed to submit. This was before Covid, so I had a chance to go to an in person Enrollment appointment hosted at ASU. After I made my savings commitment to save 50 per month, to hit my savings goals to get the award. (You have to reach 250 two times in the year so that you can get your 2,000 for the fall and 2,000 for the spring.) There were times when I had to miss my deposit or get it in late, but my Success Coaches Selena and Niko helped keep me on track and explain any emails that I was confused about. This scholarship was able to save me 4,500 of student loans that I would have had to take for my first year at UArizona.
While I had to exit the program in 2021, because I didn't get the Pell grant that year, which makes me sad because I had to take out student loans for the rest of what I lost in not getting the Pell grant and my Earn to Learn Scholarship. This program still has had a lasting effect on my life thanks to the personal finance training and the webinars they offer. I was able to get my credit score from low 500s to a solid 730. I was able to help my Husband negotiate his car payments because I had confidence in the knowledge I gained form the Vantage West Webinar on Car buying which was offered to us as students in the program.
I totally get that sometimes there is miscommunications, but I hope whoever sees this, sees that Earn to Learn has a wonderful affect on the lives they serve.
