Our family is forever grateful for Anna at Dyslexia and Reading Tutoring. Her dedication to help kids who struggle to read is top notch. By the time we found Anna, our dyslexic child had experienced multiple years of reading failure and academic discouragement to the point that our child no longer believed she would be able to learn to read. This persistent sense of failure lead to many challenging attitudes around going to tutoring after a painfully long day of school or on a beautiful summer day when friends were off playing. Anna's breadth of educational experiences, along with her deep understanding of dyslexia and confidence in the abilities of dyslexic children, was exactly what my child needed. Our son has worked with Anna and her team for over a year, and we could not be more thankful for the impact they have already had on him. It was a real challenge to see him struggling with school and not wanting to attend to gaining the confidence that he belongs and can learn with his peers has been amazing. He even now asks if he can read to us at night which we thought would never happen.

Anna and her team are so patient, understand his individual needs, and cater each session to where he is at. They are not afraid to push while balancing the necessary support throughout each session all the while educating us as parents on how best to work with his individual needs. When I called Anna I was an absolute wreck having been told that my 4rd grade student was “lazy” and not putting in the effort with his reading. One thing knew is that he was NOT a lazy kid. I knew my son to be very smart AND frustrated in his reading, true, but not lazy. When I described his reading habits to Anna she assured me that he wasn’t lazy and may be struggling with reading because of dyslexia. What a relief to hear this idea AND to have an understanding soul to talk with about it. We quickly put together a plan and the results have been incredible.

We are so thankful for Anna's work with our son, she is fantastic. Our family first met Anna when she was our son's second grade teacher. Currently in fifth grade, he continues to talk about how much he enjoyed being in Anna's class and how much he misses her as his teacher. Considering the difficulty he has had with learning and sustained attention, this speaks volumes. Anna manages to create a caring, supportive environment for her students while also encouraging them to excel. She is a wonderful teacher. It was truly amazing to see how quickly this program helped my child. Fast forward to fifth grade, my daughter just tested high-average in literacy on a district test.
