If you come from a community Christian fellowship as I do, the formal structure at Desert Rose will be a strong "spiritual culture shock" if that is a thing. So I waited until about a year had passed before forming my personal opinions about the group.
Bear in mind that I am the kind to wear brass lion buckles because they remind me of The Lion of Judah. I often wear prayer tassels to feel my connection to God in the Torah. Do they judge me based on my appearance? Not that I can perceive. Do the kids eye you with curious eyes? Yes. I have shared the stories behind collecting feathers and they are eager for the stories.
There is a much deeper part to this outreach here. The members are hungry to find out how they can help you. How they can provide for needs or assist on your journey along the path. I encourage you to stick with it for a while and start to feel the minimal internal conflict here. Start to perceive the genuine love embedded in their outreach. It is worth the effort.

Don’t be fooled by the sign saying “Christian fellowship; everyone is welcome.”
Although their worship is straight from the Bible, and I thoroughly enjoyed the pastors delivery. He is wonderful and delivering the message and teaching perfectly and does not put it in his own words.
Keep in mind everyone is in full Mennonite attire. The services is 3 hours long. The people are welcoming and greet you with a smile. The building is clean and perfectly kept . It’s a no-frills small church but has everything needed . I was not dressed in traditional Mennonite clothing.This was difficult for some people, especially the children could not stop staring. I stood out like a sore thumb. Although I was nicely dressed in a mommy dress with a cover and my grandmother’s pearls with a small heeled sandal.
This is a Mennonite church . Not a traditional Christian church.
Although like I said, everybody was friendly I did not feel welcomed. After 3hours, they were serving lunch. One person approached me to say I was welcome to join them for lunch. I graciously excused myself and told him I appreciated the offer.
This is a quiet meek church.
It’s very structured.
Everybody in that church has a beautiful singing voices. The praise and worship in song was amazing. Readings from the Bible was not only for the person on stage. They did go around the sanctuary inviting people to read. I had never experienced that before.
I probably will not revisit this one again other than two maybe slip in at 11 o’clock when the pastor takes the stage.
It is so structured everybody knew what was coming next, except for me. It was as if they had done their whole life or had a lot of practice. It was like clockwork.
I absolutely cannot get over how amazing everybody’s voice was. It was the best praise in worship in song that I’ve ever heard and coming from such a small group of people in the sanctuary.
If you’re a Mennonite Faith,or new to the area or visiting or looking to become a Mennonite, this cute little church maybe for you. Hopefully this helps. Blessings.

Standing in line at Walmart one day, God spoke two words, "Turn Around." Didn't know if I imagined that but paid heed and did so. Standing there was a nicely bearded man with two young women in Cape Dresses which I initially mistook for Amish. Introducing myself, I was pleased to meet Tim Stolzfus and members of his family; relocated from Arkansas to Hereford, Arizona to start a Mennonite congregation. I was welcomed into their close religious house and have grown to love both their incredibly wonderful worship of God, Jesus, and the Bible while keeping faith with all of the good and uncomplicated teachings of Christian Fellowship. Fellowship meals, voices raised in singing praise joined with heartfelt prayer have cemented my heart into a close association with an aspect of God's faith I've looked for all my life. I've connected with the entire Congressional family, love each and every one of them and feel truly blessed to be welcome.
