I took my Down’s Syndrome and deaf brother on a trip through Road Scholar, organized by the Denali Education Center. Not only was it a great experience and facility but they went way above and beyond my expectations to make my brother feel at home. They supplied not one but two ALS interpreters to make sure he understood all the lectures and discussions that were part of our trip. Food (healthy gourmet buffet) and accommodations were excellent as was the energetic and friendly staff. Field trips offered a variety of options for different activity levels and budgets. The DEC also organized our trip to Ankorage and Seward and provided great field trips, accommodations and food options in these places as well. The train ride in the window enclosed gold star car with full meals included was my favorite along with the visit to a sled dog kennel where we got to play with puppies. I can’t say enough great things about these people and the experiences they provided for myself and my brother ❤️.

On a Road Scholar trip we stayed at the DEC for 5 nights. Our cabin on the river was very comfortable and clean. Food by Eli and James was amazing and they cheerfully accomodated special diets. Katie, Liz and other staff were always helpful and friendly.
Classes by Bones and visiting lecturers about wildlife, geology and climate change were quite informative.
I highly recommend a stay at the DEC if given the opportunity.

Awesome time learning about rock formations, animals, and the history of Denali Park. Used the cabin, education center, dining hall and was delighted by the servant attitude of the staff.

I was here with a Road Scholar group, and we had a great time. The food was amazing, courtesy of their chef, Eli. The cafeteria was better than most of the restaurants we went to in Alaska. The location was beautiful, and we got to see a mother moose and her calf across the river.

Very enjoyable. Learned a lot. Staffed by Native Americans who were a wealth of knowledge. Great exhibits, beautiful grounds. Very nice gift shop.

Speaker sure loved her job. Well done.but try to do the talk earlier in the day! Tour group of 99 percent old folks were falling asleep

Wish they hadn't closed this place this summer. They've got fantastic displays, beautiful artwork, but are not opening their doors except for speakers on Friday nights.
