My son came here twice to prep for an exam. Math is his strong subject but for some reason geometry just was not his area. He had been falling behind and was becoming frustrated to the point where he felt defeated. After his first session he was like a new kid, overjoyed with confidence. It was nice to see. He said he really liked the teacher and how easy he made it seem. I've decided to continue his tutoring here for the 3 month offer. Can't wait to see my son enjoy math again. Thanks Douglas!

My daughter would never pay attention to tutors in the past because she had problems understanding math from an early age. Douglas was patient and took the time to explain and work with her in a way that enabled her to grasp the concepts and finish her work when no other tutors or tutoring programs helped. She even passed 3 math regents (algebra, trig, geometry)after working with him. Before working with Cornerstone she hardly passed a test in high school. Douglas is a wonderful, kind and caring teacher and I have no reservations recommending this program.

I hate writing reviews because I’m not a great writer. But I really felt I needed to write this review.
When my son was younger, we sent him to various afterschool/summer programs. However, I realized my son doesn’t do so well in a large groups. My son could not keep up with the classes. He struggled and hated going. My son is an average student but he started struggling in HS, especially in Math.
Luckly, I found out about Douglas, a HS math teacher who offered private tutoring. I sent my son for tutoring classes two to three times a week, and the results were incredible. My son quickly gained self confidence as he watched his grades improve to 90s. During his sophomore year, we started prepping for the PSAT/SAT exams.
When we received his scores, my husband and I were shocked. My son received a score we never thought he could reach. Now, my son has been accepted to many of his dream colleges and has even received a very generous scholarship from two of them. My son gained so much confidence and is so much happier now.
If your child needs help at school or is preparing for college, do not hesitate to reach out to Douglas. He is an amazing person, patient and TRULY caring!!
