C.A.R.E. is a truly magical place that restores your faith in humanity. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the love and dedication they have for every animal in their care. The staff is incredible—so knowledgeable, patient, and compassionate. The volunteers are equally amazing, giving their time and hearts to help these animals find their forever homes.

We adopted our dog, who had been at C.A.R.E. for over a year, and they went above and beyond to help with her rehabilitation and transition into our home. Their guidance and support made all the difference in helping her grow into the loving, confident dog she is today. We’ve also had the joy of fostering a puppy through them, which was such a rewarding experience. They provided everything we needed and were there every step of the way to answer questions and cheer us on.

C.A.R.E. is more than just a rescue—they’re a lifeline for animals and a beacon of hope for animal lovers like us. If you’re considering adding a furry friend to your family, please adopt rather than shop. You’ll not only be saving a life but also supporting an organization that truly puts the well-being of animals first. C.A.R.E. changes lives—both for the animals and the people lucky enough to bring them home.

Extremely disappointed with CARE. Despite presenting a genuine case of a rescue cat in need, the staff were unhelpful, dismissive, and completely lacking in compassion. I expected an organization dedicated to animal welfare to be more understanding, but instead I was met with rigid responses and no real effort to help. It’s disheartening to see a rescue group turn away animals that truly need care. They may promote compassion, but unfortunately, I didn’t see any of it.

I have my two angels from CARE NorthShore. I adopted Twyla (then Nala) our black cat in 2021 and Ozzie (then Max) our tuxedo cat in 2024. Both kitties are the same age and have sweet dispositions. The dispositions of the cats match those of the amazing volunteers of CARE. My adoption counselor Melissa was so kind and welcoming on the phone, through text, and in person when I adopted Ozzie. The facilities are unmatched. I cannot believe they run on volunteers. The facilities are modern, clean, and beautiful. I knew I wanted to adopt again from CARE after having such a pawsitive experience with our first cat. I cannot recommend them enough!

My personal experience was incredible. This was my first time adopting my own pets as an adult so I was very nervous. I filled out the adoption form and Cathy took great care of finding the right match. I originally was interested in two cats I found on their website, but they recommended another pair that would fit our lifestyle a bit more. Cathy walked me through the process over the phone and we made an appointment. That weekend, we met our boys and the rest is history. I am so grateful. The staff really did know all of the cats as well as their personalities and they were sad (and happy) to see these two go home with us. Our senior boys Cloud and Smoke were well cared for there and they truly are the perfect match, like they’ve been a part of our family forever.

Adopted "Blackjack" (Now Tucker) on September 21. He is an amazing 4 month old lab/? mix. Very well behaved. Mona was awesome. She worked with us to make sure he was a fit for our family. The facility is very large and clean. Dogs seem well cared for and any medical issues are treated. (He had kennal cough but was already in treatment and was gone within a day or 2 of us getting home home). She checks in every few days to see how he is doing. Highly recommend them if your looking to adopt. They are a great facility and you won't be disappointed.

I cannot express the gratitude I have for C.A.R.E animal rescue! I had an outdoor cat that had been coming to see me every day since the beginning of June who was a very very friendly (what I presume is a cat that was dumped by its owner) cat that was deemed as feral since he was outside. After I had trapped him had him neutered and rabies shots done, I couldn't find a rescue to take him in, because every rescue is full to the brim with kittens. Through a friend and the diligent and AMAZING staff member Dianr, Oscar was allowed to come into their rescue and no longer live in my backyard. I will miss having my little outside buddy around, but I desperately want him to find his forever home with a loving family!

THANK YOU C.A.R.E and DIANE!!!❤❤❤❤❤
