My children and I (working as a camp nurse) have attended many camps across the United States and I can honestly say that Colvig was the camp that had the greatest impact on my kids. They have amazing stories to tell about hiking to the top of mountains, seeing the most beautiful sunrise, and sleeping out under the stars. They gained skills in knot tying, trail food preparation, leave-no-trace, and general hiking and backpacking. Colvig gives your kids so much more than activities and a fun time, it challenges kids and gives them opportunities to accomplish things they can be proud of and talk, or brag about for years to come. Seeing pictures of my kids in the middle of the back country, on the peaks of mountains, and hiking with their packs on was simply amazing. Colvig truly is a "summer of significance".

My 9 year old daughter has been going to Colvig for 3 summers and returns home more and more independent, mature, and adventurous every year. The growth I see in her self-confidence, social skills, and emotional maturity is just astounding. I am so grateful to Colvig and their commitment to what is truly healthy for kids, which is quality communal living, wilderness, adventure, and play. Thank you, Colvig!

Colvig Silver Camps has been one of the most positive influential experiences of my life. From 8 years as a camper to 7 years on staff to now 6+ years as a camp parent, I have witnessed the incredible impact CSC has not only had on my life, but now on my children's lives as well. The noncompetitive environment, emphasis on fun, play, connection, wilderness exploration (in one of the most beautiful pockets of our country), and truly being yourself is something our kids are craving in this day of electronic devices and increasing isolation. My kids talk openly about the risks they are not afraid to take in life thanks to their time at CSC, and the friendships they have made will clearly be lifelong. Camp truly gives kids a "World of Good," and CSC is the very best at providing that.

This family owned and operated camp is a unique and transformative experience for kids. It's a non competitive camp focused on backpacking and the outdoors. Along the way the kids become great friends and learn to support one another with empathy and love. It's not unusual for parents to travel across the country to send their kids here based on their own experiences at the camp growing up.

CSC is a life changing experience! Having spent over 10 years there moving from camper to counselor to program director, I have experienced and witnessed the individual growth and character development that takes place. As the ACA says, "Camp Gives Kids A World of Good" and CSC excels at this!

We have sent both our kids to Colvig for multiple years through different ages. I too was a Colvig camper about thirty years ago. Colvig is a magical place far away from the “real world” of school, homework and daily life. An immersive dose of nature, friendship, mountain air and Colorado stars is the best antidote for the stress modern young life brings today. We pick our kids up after a month at Colvig and we find them radiantly happy; already counting the days till they get to come back. They miss us but there are often tears that they must say goodbye to their camp friends. Colvig changed my life for the better and is now a wonderful gift I can give my children to make a meaningful difference in theirs. Thank you Colvig Silver Camps please keep it up!

CSC changed my life. This place is full of love, adventure, and FUN. I was drawn to this camp after a negative experience elsewhere that prioritized crushing daily competitions every day for the staff and campers. Kids get enough of that at school. The CSC values of non-competition and mutual support was exactly what we needed to tackle big challenges as a team. Should I go on? Oh yeah, the lifelong friends I made there are among the best people in the world. Thanks Colvigs…

I grew up attending Summer Camp. I was a camper, then a counselor in training, then a counselor, promoted to cabin director, and then camp director of that same camp which was a camp for kids with cancer, their siblings, and other children with catastrophic illnesses (sickle cell anemia, bleeding disorders, etc.). Our camp did everything it could to challenge these children and found that they flourished and talked most about their experience rock climbing, hiking, doing challenge courses, etc. Yes, they enjoyed arts and crafts, but exploring their abilities (especially for kids that were often used to being "sheltered" from strenuous activity) seemed to bring the most personal development and growth to our campers.

That was all said to say this: Colvig Silver Camp challenged my kids and gave them grit that they didn't know they had and it did so in a supervised way with supportive counselors and peers. This isn't a "glamping" camp where kids have turn-down service and a mint on their pillow.

Our world is embracing the idea of "Safe Spaces" creating individuals that lack mental resiliency. Colvig challenged my daughter who has anxiety to summit mountains, sleep outdoors, explore nature, "dig deep," and grow. Yes, your children will be challenged in ways we as parents are often unable or inexperienced to provide, but if your children participate with an open mind, I believe they will find abilities they may not have been aware of before.

I fully recommend, Colig Silver Camp.
