What an awesome place to visit! I showed up not sure what to expect and was blown away by the quality of the tour. Educational and eye opening. They take pride in taking care of these animals and making sure the visitors understand that they need our help. I especially loved seeing the wolf dogs - reminded me of my Mia back home (Siberian Husky/German Shepherd/Malamute/Wolf mix). Beware of the gift shop - it is very destructive to your wallet! So many awesome things to buy. I highly recommend taking a tour and if I find myself back in the area I will visit again and bring the family šŸ™‚

A Remarkable Place!

I visited the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center last Saturday, and it has become one of my new favorite places! Unfortunately, I can’t visit a lot, as I’m on the East coast, but I would definitely go again.

The tour of the area was very intriguing and educational. It was sad learning about the cruel impact humans have had/have on wolves, but it was important to learn. There was a bright side though, and it was fun learning about the individual wolves at the center and how they’re being protected.

The VIP tour was the highlight of the experience. My family and I got to go into an enclosure and meet Amarok and Luna. It was such a cool experience and one that I’ll never forget. I highly recommend this tour as it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

In addition, the gift shop was a lovely place to explore. The shop is full of wolf/fox/coyote themed trinkets. It even has a den area where you can sit by a fireplace and warm up!

Lastly, I want to give a big shout out to the staff here. They were all very kind, helpful, and informative. I hope to visit this remarkable place again someday!

Visiting the Coltado Wolf Centre was an unforgettable experience! The center is dedicated to the conservation and education about wolves, and it was incredible to see these magnificent animals up close while learning about their critical role in the ecosystem.

The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, providing detailed information on wolf behavior, habitat, and the importance of coexistence. It’s clear they care deeply about the well-being of the wolves and educating visitors to dispel myths surrounding these misunderstood creatures.

The facility is well-maintained, and the tours are well-organized, ensuring both the safety of visitors and the comfort of the wolves. I particularly appreciated how the center promotes ethical wildlife interactions and doesn’t exploit the animals for entertainment.

If you’re a nature enthusiast or simply curious about wolves, I highly recommend a visit. It’s an enriching experience that leaves you with a deeper appreciation for wildlife and conservation efforts.

My boyfriend took me here for the full moon tour in December, we had lots of fun hearing each animal’s histories as well as the species historie. Very thoughtful staff for making such a wonderful experience. Hot chocolate and apple cider served by a warm fire side. I was immediately greeted by Stacey who directed us to where we needed to go and she even complimented my hair. The little details make it such an amazing experience. Would love to go againšŸ¤

What a wonderful way to spend an hour, especially for a great cause. We had a tour guide who was extremely knowledgeable who educated our group with various facts on wolves as we toured the grounds. The wolves (and foxes) were beautiful, majestic and friendly. They are in great hands at the sanctuary and will live long healthy lives there. And the group howl at the end was the best.

Have been here many times with my family! I have once even done the meet and greet the wolves with my father. This time we only did the feeding tour. Every person that has done the tour for us has been amazing along with the staff. This time Ethan and Ariel (I believe that was her name) were on the tour with us. Ethan was our tour guide and did amazing and very kind. You can tell he loves all the animals. Amazing experience as always. Thank you!

First, what an absolutely amazing experience! Walking around with these amazing animals, that are so close, was a top 10 experience. Especially if you go for the VIP experience.
The sanctuary is very well done. A lot of attention and to detail hard work was put in for the animals to feel safe and cared for.
You check-in for your reservation at the front and they check you have appropriate clothing on (nothing that can tear or hurt the animals). Then once everbody is checked in a guide explains the history of the species in the US and the current situation that the animals are facing. They also discuss how every person can help beyond monetary donations.
Then the guide walks you through the compound giving facts about each species as well as details about each animals personality (Which when we went were all BIG personalities). At the end of the tour our guide was able to get a compound wide howl going which was breath taking. The tour took about an hour.
We did the VIP with the wolves, which again was about an hour, and we got to walk with a pair of wolves sit down with them and give them attention. Later on we got to feed them and get kisses. During this a guide and a camera person take pictures and explain a bit more about the particular pair, as well as make sure everyone is safe.
This was a well put together operation that I could never recommend enough.
Pleanty of parking, restrooms and a gift shop. They have snacks for purchase.

Absolutely loved our experience! We booked our tickets via phone - we did the feeding tour. It was amazing. Came in, had time to spare to see the foxes right by the visitor center and shop. The tour was very educational, learned a lot from the tour guides, and enjoyed seeing the wolves and knowing their stories. They have red wolves, very protected, which I adore. I learned about red wolves sometime last year and how scarce they are now. So glad to see this place is taking such good care of them, along with the other wolves, coyotes, and foxes. The staff/guide were very informative and welcoming to questions when asked about what we can do to help the conservation and care of wildlife. We will be back for sure!!
