We are entering our second year at Colorado School of Dance and we absolutely love it there! They have such a wide variety of classes to choose from for all ages and skill levels. Each instructor we've had has been absolutely fantastic and has really cared for my daughter and her time that she spends in class. The shop up front is so well run and is always well stocked with exciting new things for dancers. We love CSD!

It is with a heavy heart that we write this review about the Colorado Dance School. After years of involvement, we feel it’s important to share our deeply disappointing experience, especially regarding the actions and attitudes of the owner, Lisa. This school has unfortunately developed a reputation for favoritism, creating an environment that feels both toxic and disheartening for many young dancers. Many families share this frustration, yet feel afraid to speak up due to fear of retribution—a sentiment that should not exist in a space meant to nurture and encourage children.

For parents considering this school, it’s essential to also know that the advertised costs do not reflect what you may actually end up paying. In our opinion, there is a lack of transparency around the fees, and we often found ourselves surprised by additional charges that were not clearly communicated upfront. The real cost can be significantly higher than expected, and we believe parents deserve clear and upfront information to make informed decisions about their child’s activities.

If you’re considering the Colorado Dance School, please proceed with caution. Don’t be misled by initial appearances of warmth and kindness. In our view, this is not the supportive, nurturing environment that it may appear to be. Our sincere advice is to look for a school where your child’s talent will be valued and nurtured without the need for navigating favoritism or hidden costs. Sadly, the review from years ago saying, 'Lisa has been deceptive and dishonest' still rings true. It’s a sentiment we wish we’d seen sooner.

My daughter has been at Colorado School of Dance for 4 years now. She takes a variety of technique classes and is on the competition team. The level of instruction at CSD is amazing, all of the teachers, coaches, staff and owners are so kind and welcoming, and inspire and motivate the kids. They really want to see their dancers succeed! We are very happy we decided to join the CSD family.

Both of my kids have been dancing here for almost 8 years. We started out dancing in the rec classes and now both our kids are on the competitive dance team. This place has become a home away from home and our kids never tire of coming here to see all their amazing teachers and dance family/friends! We are so grateful for everything CSD has done and does do for our family and the community!

My daughter absolutely loves dancing, and this is the third dance school she’s attended. She had previously been at two other schools, but neither really allowed her to fully showcase her potential. That all changed when we found this place! She is so happy here, and we plan to stay for the long term. The classes and the team are fantastic, and the teachers are incredibly professional, dedicated, and responsible. Having spent 13 years in dance growing up, I was pretty particular about finding a dance studio when our daughter showed interest in ballet. I am happy to report that CSD is the real deal! Though we are barely a month into classes for our 3-year-old daughter, I am delighted that there is a perfect balance of technique and “fun”. She wakes up *every day* asking if she has dance class😂 can’t wait to see what the future holds!

My daughter has been with Colorado School of Dance for ballet and jazz for several years now and we can't say enough wonderful things! The staff is unbelievable and so professional. We love how dedicated these teachers are, and we are always impressed by the quality of the performances (The Nutcracker of Parker, recitals, etc.). I would highly recommend Colorado School of Dance to anyone with a budding talent!
