I took the Basic Pistol I course with Jason today and absolutely enjoyed it! Before the class, I was an absolute beginner where I didn’t even know how to load a magazine or know the different parts of my newly purchased pistol. Jason was very patient, informative, and was able to answer all of the questions that I had asked. He explained everything in detail and made sure that I understood the info before going to the next subject. I was also able to practice at the outdoor range by firing over 125 rounds throughout different distances. After the course, I’m now able to operate the gun and shoot with confidence. I strongly recommend this course to others, especially to those who are new to firearms.

The class/company is very well structured. You can tell the owners put a lot of love and consideration into the courses. Seriously, from the ground up, this place is astounding. Not only in provision but the reverence for the craft/hobby as well.

Great firearm training! Anywhere from never touched a gun to advanced tactical training. Jason was so knowledgeable and humble. Great experience. I’ve been to a lot of firearms trainings and I can confidently say that Colorado Firearm Academy is one of the best I’ve been to. Jason goes above and beyond in his Defensive Pistol 1 course, teaching students the skills to comfortable carry their pistol and how to deploy a weapon in a defensive scenario. This class will leave you prepared to get your CCW, it is not some class-based lecture where you shoot 5-10 rounds (at best). You will leave these courses more comfortable with your weapon system than when you came in, and at a price you can’t beat. Most classes I’ve been to have been double or even triple the cost of this course, and you can see Jason’s passion and commitment to teaching people personal protection. Classes tend to fill up quickly, and this speaks highly to the quality of instruction you will receive. If you see an opening, don’t hesitate to sign up, I promise it’ll be worth your time and money. I am a 59 year old who had never fired or knew anything about a handgun. Jason was very patient, explaining and breaking everything down into very clear steps. He was also very observant, giving instant feedback on what I needed to change and he always did it very respectfully, never making me feel stupid for my lack of experience. Jason has a wonderful ability to teach, demonstrate, and is very flexible as needed and personable. Highly recommended! Kelly
