My husband and I wanted to learn some ballroom dance basics to use in our first dance for our wedding, and we found this amazing studio. The price of their beginners package is unbeatable! We worked with Shawna and truly cannot say enough good things about her! We loved her so much that both my parents and my husband's parents ended up taking lessons with her, too! It was really fun to take lessons with my dad so we could practice our father-daughter dance. Pretty much everyone in my family was initially a little nervous about the idea of dancing in front of other people, and Shawna very quickly put those worries to rest by showing us how fun and easy dancing can be. What I really love about her teaching style is that she breaks the concepts down into bite-sized pieces that are really easy to understand, apply, and practice. She also shares the "why" behind why it's easier or more natural to do a move in a certain way, which makes it more fluid and easy to remember. Her pacing never felt rushed and was so perfect for us as beginners! I had found a few "advanced moves" that I thought would be beautiful to incorporate into our first dance, but had no idea how to do them (and was doubtful our skill level would allow it!) but Shawna easily broke those moves down, too, and showed us exactly how to do them. Before we knew it, we had a fully choreographed first dance, full of moves we both felt comfortable doing - and we actually looked elegant doing them! I am so thankful to Shawna for the fun experience, and the gift of feeling so confident during our first dance, father-daughter dance, and mother-son dance on our wedding night. We will definitely be coming back for more lessons as a fun date night!

Cannot say enough good things about Brandon and Sarah at the front desk. We loved learning a choreographed first wedding dance and my husband wants to go back for more lessons (he likes having an opportunity to "lead" 😉). If you are thinking about trying it, you totally should!

My now husband and I went to the Denver location to get lessons for our first dance for our wedding. They had an amazing value special at the time -- three 25 minute lessons for $25! We worked with Hannah for all three sessions, and she was phenomenal! She was great at teaching and instructing with both of our roles for the dance. Yes, we had to practice a lot at home, but we went from being nervous (I thought we were going to look silly just hugging each other, spinning slightly for an awkward amount of time) to being confident on the dancefloor, having a routine memorized. Some of our guests even complimented us on our dance. I enjoyed the whole process, including the time my husband and I spent together practicing.

If you are considering first time dance lessons, I would highly recommend Colorado Dancesport Ballroom!

My husband and I have tried lessons at most dance studios on the south side of Denver and this studio is by far and away the best. My husband and I are so pleased with our teacher, Leonard. He is excellent for beginning dancers who just want to learn to social dance. Unlike franchise studios, this one does not press you constantly for money and sign ups. We drive 45 minutes to get to it, but it is far and away worth it.

Colorado DanceSport is the absolute best place to go for not only wedding dance prep, but even just to learn how to dance! Our instructor, Leonard, is absolutely amazing. His passion for teaching and patience to work with us as we learn is stellar! The staff is also incredibly accommodating and kind. You will not find a better place to learn to dance than this studio!

My mother has been taking dance lessons at Colorado Dancesport Ballroom for the last 8 years. She LOVES it - fantastic teachers, very accommodating and best of all, Fun. There are many opportunities to participate in showcases and competitions if you like that sort of thing. This is the best dance studio around! You won't regret coming here. 😀

An outstanding experience overall. The staff is more like family, and you can't imagine the level of support that you feel. Everyone is there to help you succeed and excel to whatever level of goals you're looking for, whether it be a social dance at your next wedding, all the way up to performance and competition. They make you feel like you can do whatever you want, as long as you're willing to work for it. A great way to expand your personal abilities, while including a fabulous way to work out and enjoy it at the same time. Kudos to all of the teachers and staff who work so hard to make this a worthwhile addition to your lifestyle.
