Just straight up tired of having zero access to the pool. This is the best spot in the world to have membership for the pool if you want to just pay for nothing. If a single weather event as extreme as sunset happens? Rest of the place is open, but not the indoor pool, and there will be no notice given online, no sign put up, you'll just be locked out. If you have a job and might want to swim after work? Screw you, they got paid by the swim team so the pool will be closed 4 days a week. Since everyone knows lifeguards can't watch a pool after 7pm, it's also closed then, so no winding down in the evening with a nice swim.

I honestly love the location and staff, but I'm sick of the way they cater to the swim team above and beyond their own members. Staff have been nice and helpful when the kids ran amok, but I can't exactly complain that they're just obnoxious in general. Additionally, not even ONE LANE in the pool reserved for members during swim practice? If the team is so big they dominate the whole place like this several times a week, they should have their own pool. I only even come here to swim and can't even do that, so I don't know why I bother keeping a membership.

Closes too early on Fridays and basketball gym always has something going on and.then.when it finally is open for use they come in and tell you it's closed an.hour earlier then the y actually closes so.they can clean it. Heaven forbid you make the janitor stay 15 minutes longer to sweep it .. Maybe quit hiring lazy people and things could get done more efficiently. Gym was closed from the Jan 9th to 16th on the 11th they let the old geezers and guys play pickel ball in the unfinished court. Why don't you just suck them off while your at it?.

First time here. Could use more treadmills. 6 isn’t much compared to the Y in edwardsville. Overall it’s nice and clean and I’ll be back

Love the staff here, always very helpful. The people that work in the childcare are the best! We went to another local Y while the fitness center was getting improvements and we couldn’t wait to get back to this location because they do such a great job. I am always recommending the YMCA to people now.

If you're a busy person or work a lot and have to rely on evenings or weekends, probably not the place for you. Open a short time on Sundays and close it down on the weekends for swim meets. Only a couple of stair mills so you may have to wait awhile to use a specific piece of equipment. Staff is nice at least.

Katy Howard has been such an amazing trainer while I was pregnant and now a year post-baby. Can’t recommend her enough!! Everyone at child watch is so sweet with my littles. Love the new layout of machines too - more room is a plus!

Edit again..2025 they have alleviated the issue have a new trainer there Shawn who is amazing ...EDIT.. as of 11/14/2023 after 20 years of living across the street and being a member there. I have always gave this ymca 5 stars until this last year it has really went down hill..the new trainer lady they have who brings her class of 6 to 7 people into the gym and takes up the whole gym.and she's rude about it, even though they have a whole room for that.they come in there and occupy half the gym to do situps and block the one and only flat bench they have. .i was willing to deal with all that but now they got all new equipment amd its all leg stuff .they now have one bench and 4 squatracks for that ladies class..after 20 years I'm done I now workout somewhere else ..if youre not interested in
trying to workout around a class that has therir own room. And gym with all leg machines and noting for upper body..this is the gym for you..ill check back in a year or two see if they got new staff amd equipment by then (Always great staff and members, clean facility .5 ⭐)
